he's doing that thing you would do in like a coffee house where you start snapping your fingers if a poem is good.. not sure where they originated but i'm pretty sure that's what he's doing

i'm not much of a writer but the back and forth of it is pulling in two different directions emotionally, i suppose that is what you were going for. it's definitely not subtle, i hope no one  irl is saying those things to you but if they are they don't belong in your life.

anyway, do you still draw? i haven't seen a drawing from you in so long

Evelynn

Oh, I've never gone to poetry readings so I didn't know people did this, thank you bd and rtil for explaining.
That's exactly what I was going for to kind of convey the idea of the emotions fluctuating constantly, it's like a weekly thing of where someone come up to me and has something negative to say and even more often the not so subtle snickering or questioning in the background, but it's w/e the focus of this poem was specifically my own views and what's in my mind.

I honestly haven't drawn in a very long time, every time I feel like drawing I stop half way through because anatomy somehow brings up emotional stuffs.

rtil

maybe you could do things like environments in the meantime

Evelynn

That does sound like a good idea, my environments/bg art has always been pretty awful so now would be a good time to work on it I guess, although I've been having fun writing these days.

I'm not a writer either, and even less of a poet, but I'd recommend studying rhyme and meter if you have any interest in poetry beyond emotional self-assuagement. Based on content, the American Confessional school might be worth reading, if you haven't already.

But yeah I liked the twist at the end. Twists are important. I can't remember what they're called in this context.

Evelynn

If I plan on taking it past just writing every so often the random thoughts I have I will.
and I have no clue what it's called either, at first I was going to make it more apparent in the title but then I was like, well I guess I could make a reader unsure as to what/whom i'm talking about then reveal it at the end... sure i'll go with that.

Bamyasi

Well I admire your willingness to improve. Feel free to send me stuff if you ever want a philistine's perspective. Or I guess you could just post it here.

Evelynn

Thank you ^-^
I'll be sure to post my stuff when I don't think it's a pile of shit ahaha

crackers

I don't really have much to offer in the way of criticism or improvement, which is probably what you'd like from me! However what I would like to say now that I'd love to see more of your work, be it artistic or written. I enjoy a bit of writing myself, and I always feel the best way to improve is to read as much varied content as possible.

AKA post yours so I can read it muahaha

I believe it is just a 'plot twist', or peripety, but don't quote me on that.

bramblepuss

Evelynn
