yeah it sounds good in that key. the arrangement isnt bad but i think it works better as a rock song. it sucks i didnt know anything about tones or anything back when i was in FS cuz i was setting the EQ and everything on my amp and i tried playing that song and it would sound way better now

Philip K Dick

i wanted to have it build up from the orchestra to guitar rock like the original. but i dont really have the right setup to record real guitar. still need to get a new amp

trent bortknob

honestly dude, based on the tone you seem to want, i'd recommend you just save up, get a marshall tube amp and a les paul jr or something. something with mini humbuckers might be good for you too, cuz i know you like that tight, bright tone, but you probably dont like 60 cycle hum. you dont strike me as a single coil or a fender kind of guy. based on the style of music that you play, so i think you definitely should continue using humbucker pickups in your guitars. the guitar you have right now might even be fine in the pickup department, idk. but the point is, marshall tube amp will almost certainly provide the tone you want.

i was thinking about getting a digital amp actually but i wrote down marshal tube to try  next time i go to starving musician

Philip K Dick

ugh you should just record guitar for my stuff that was so much easier

trent bortknob

Philip K Dick

Philip K Dick

Flash

i dug tri
it sounds like something from a concept album

Flash

cool
btw it sounds a bit like the mars volta to me. i don't know why since it's in common time and not nearly as angular as tmv stuff.

trent bortknob

i dont get a TMV vibe at all, but i mean armon likes TMV a lot so they probably influenced him even for this.

Philip K Dick

its a little bit inspired by their new album noctourniquet which is a lot more straightforward than their older stuff

nice cover

i like prometheus' lyrics, and it's got a nice rhythm to it. loses its punch a bit after the 2nd chorus imo
the harmony in cosmic sliders (especially on the chorus) sounds great and i like that you put it right before stradivarius
the ceiling is probably my favorite track from this album, i like the synths doing the rhythm/harmony a lot
violin punch and halfrapture also sound really good.
as for the last part of the album, it's got a lot of cool ideas in it but not a lot of them take off. the first half of the ceiling wants to kill me sounds really cool and then the next part that i really liked comes at around 1:19 on part 2, i thought that was gonna last longer lmao

overall i think in this album the instrumental bits are the best, the melodies are more complex whereas in the vocal tunes you think up a couple of good melodies for the verse/chorus and repeat them a couple times (which is cool but not as much imo).
good job
