oh and i guess i might as well post this too. i don't really like it all that much but it was the first thing i did digitally and the only thing i did solely with my tablet.

coloring and inking a sketch you like without losing the sketch's charm can be really difficult. it will take a while to find your 'groove' in ps , what brushes give you a comfortable feeling. just keep practicing and experimenting and it will come to you over time.

I like what you've done so far, so I think you should stick with that.
Maybe only add as much detail as you need to get the point across
As you go on with your comic, maybe make some changes here to show some development as you will no doubt improve over time, seeing what works and what doesn't

Productivity should take top shelf in primary goals imo so keep up the good stuff

I'm in the midst of planning a comic, and I asked myself the style question, too.
I came to the conclusion, that the simpler I can make it, the better. It's good to be able to crank out comics quickly, and not be  unmotivated to work  on it, because it takes too much effort.
Impressionist art was so popular, because it was accessible. People didn't need to be artists in order to understand it.
So, I say simple is the way to go. There's really no need for all the extra detail, the people who read aren't going to notice half the time anyway, they want the story. Story and updates.
Just look at Nedroid.

Anyway, I'm curious about toning, can anybody help me out with that?
I'm most inspired by THISSSS.

honestly, i just went out and looked it up.  this is the first thing that comes up when you search 'screentones'.

more than anything, i'd love to be able to do something like this in the future. i think the tones that artist used are really awesome. i think part of it is actually that I just am really inexperienced and part is that i don't know where to go about finding a whole lot of tones. this should improve with time, like most things.

i'm sure eventually i'll get to practicing colouring/photoshop 'cause i really like the look of some paintings, but for right now it's something i'm not very good at and i only really feel like drawing.

i already talked about the lineart thing and i know there are tons of things i need to improve on, and i only aim to improve. so hopefully you'll see better stuff from me in the future.

i use mechanical pencils. i used to draw with ballpoint pens a lot actually but don't like them anymore.
