Title: Books with weird smells
Post by: Crabarms on July 13, 2010 02:10 AM
Have you ever read books that had some weird smell that distracted you from reading it?

On my experience I had checked out a book when I was younger and the book smelled like pancakes.

The worst book smell I experienced was a book from 1915 in the San Francisco library. It had a leather cover that gave off this funk. I think it was mold eating the leather and giving off a bio-waste toxin into the paper. Gah it was an old book it smelled horrid but it had the info I was looking for... and you couldn't even check it out. You could look at it for an hour with a guard standing by you in a special room. They freaked out when I wanted to photocopy a page...they had a dude with gloves photocopy the pages for me :T

once when I was lie 13 or so i was reading harry potter 5 nude, got bored of reading, and to mix things up just used my penis as a follower to keep my place. Maybe this is the common source of strange booksmell because I know I'm not the only one here who's done it.

once in English class i got bored and licked my English book, the teacher noticed me and sent me to guidance, some of my peers referred to me as book licker. I was just remembering that and considering the chances that someone did the same thing with the book Marc read.

Back when textbooks needed book covers, I had these slick rubbergrip ones that I constantly picked at with my nail and I chewed on the corners when I was bored
