Since I cant be assed to bring up my last atrocity, I decided to make a new art thread...
yep
Lets start out with...you guessed it...a POKEMON
This is what i think the new mole Pokemon, Doryuuzu, will look like.
This is what happens when I take more than 15 minutes on drawing
Sketch
(https://thebackalleys.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffc05.deviantart.net%2Ffs70%2Fi%2F2010%2F180%2Fb%2Fd%2FPokemon_BandW__Doryuuzu_Sketch_by_TheBuckMan.jpg&hash=8edf775d8d9f8c303c4eb39bfc159dd186b29b77)
Lineart (my first time making lineart with the pen tool)
(https://thebackalleys.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffc06.deviantart.net%2Ffs71%2Fi%2F2010%2F180%2Fc%2Fa%2FDoryuuzu_Lineart_by_TheBuckMan.jpg&hash=273e7769ba55d4e248f7244f39cfa85abc6bfa5c)
more and the colored art coming soon
terrible
it takes a long time to master lineart
and besides the brush tool has alot better result
your sketch is very shaky, your lines lack confidence
your clean-up is boring and the character has no feeling of motion, direction or volume
i think you should, for now, just practice on sketching
@rtil:
thanks for the tip. In fact, imma go and sketch now! :-)
can you not post a new topic every time you want to show people your terrible art?
@Gemini
I'll make this my only thread ok
okay
you might also want to think about getting your own dump, or even using the tba dump option
that way you can store your crap all in one place!
sounds like a swell idea bro!
buck how often do you actually practice drawing, be honest
every fucking day bitch

a lot less than I should :\
I love drawing don't get me wrong, but everytime i start drawing i get discouraged and stop...because it doesn't live up to my expectations. Everyone around me; my family, my friends, my relatives; all compliment me over how I'm a good drawer and I shouldn't look down upon myself. I know they're just trying to be nice and appreciative of me, but it just makes me more upset because of the huge discrepancy between what my folks say, and what myself and people online say.
Maybe They're right. Maybe I shouldn't look down upon myself and get depressed. I should be happy for what I do and enjoy myself. It doesn't matter how bad it is...Like my mom once said to me, "Drawing should be what you enjoy, not something you harp over". I also shouldn't take what people online say so seriously. Maybe It would benefit me in the long run.
although I have been drawing a lot more in the past week, though

Don't let what people say about your stuff affect how you are. Me, I let what they say "ghost" through me. url="http://www.thebackalleys.com/forum/index.php?"]my stuff.[/url] Your mom is most likely right. Some people shouldn't harp over art. learning to draw is time consuming, but in the long run it will help you. I've only been drawing for a year and I'm starting to get the hang of things.
@ghostinglostman
thanks for the encouragement
you see my stuff?
give up all hope

I only started getting better once I drew A LOT a lot and worried less about how it would turn out. Being a perfectionist and having uber expectations suck at times, especially when your peers are much better at drawing/photoshopping/animating/anything-ing than you, but those expectations become more achievable once you figure out what you can do after "messing up a lot". Just draw a lot. I know a friend who recommended at least once a day, no matter how much or little if your time is wonky. Even random shapes and designs on your notes in class count.
And while you're drawing, try not to think too hard about making a masterpiece. Doodles are doodles and sketches are sketches, so they're expected to come out as scratchy, mostly developmental stuff, so your expectations shouldn't be too high just yet so you can work on improving your technique and confidence until you feel ready to apply what you personally figured out into more ambitious pieces.
And Gerkinman, there's something endearing about your rendition of buck's Pokemon idly staring into the wild blue yonder.
i doodled for 3 months and that helped me out alone.

Zekey, I know that you hate me and wish i was dead, but I really admire you as an artist. You work is breathtaking to say the least. Such Quality paintings can only come by someone obviously talented. Even your stylized pieces are works of amazing digital art.
I'd Pay to have your talent and skill for a day.
I know that we don't usually see eye-to-eye, but at lease consider this a complement.
zekey hates it when people compliment him fyi buck

*coughs* Buck man. Take it from me and just never do what you just did in the quote above me ever again, that was too painful to read...
just jokin i love ur sarcasm. Umm on a serous note, just keep on drawin man. Take in things that inspire you and implement them in your work. I don't mean trace or anything like that but just do you man. one of the best ways of improve would be to draw from life. Idk. I know i wasn't the greatest artist around when i got here, i was/am pretty trashy :3. but the more time u put into drawing and art. the more you will learn and improve from it. as i said, just do you man.
