this sounds like a pretty cool thing to me. What you basically do is you write an email, fill in your email address, select a date, click on send, validate the email address and there you go. No need to register or anything.

I just sent an email to my self in about 5 years, 20th of feb 2015 which is when i will turn 24.

The website also offers you to set the email up as public (but anonymous), so people can read them. If you don't want to send yourself an email you can still read others, some of them are really great like this one. (http://www.futureme.org/public.php?id=762379)

Most of the emails on that website are like "hey future me whats up my life suxx right now what about yours", but aside from those, most of the emails displayed there are pretty interesting to read.

i sent one to myself on december 21st 2012 but not so that i can say that the world is ending just because i think at that point it will be interesting to see what i had to say almost 3 years ago

and when I won't have I'll feel like a huge dick.

I hope this site doesn't go down before the day I'm supposed to get it. It'll be a few years so maybe not
