so me and some people are working on a game so here i'm going to post screenshots so you can see progress and go "wow, i saw this go from a shitty collection of boxes to a game that looks like a shitty first gen ps1 game!"
zekey did the textures found in these screens, lenko claims to be almost done with the sprites and i believe him!

after spending several billion hours i got it looking like this:

but there's no shading on those blocks, so i have to add normals to them, i'll just add the normal data and...

spent a trillion years and finally fixed the normals:

Ramps up the ass, I've got all shapes and sizes of ramps and platforms now, so the terrain will look less blocky and gridlike.

hd edition. i fixed a bunch of glitches and redid the lighting engine, so light bounces off of objects differently. I need to change the lights, however.

my dreams were recently crushed by school faculty who want me to do a bunch of egghead computer science research shit for the project so the demo might not be done in december however fuck my life

however i have full commitment to the project despite that when it is finished it will sell 0 copies and be a terrible resume piece

I know what you're thinking: that 2nd image looks pretty good, why don't you just use that? the answer is because the top image runs at 200fps and the bottom one runs at 10fps

just a little butthurt textwall update because some people have expressed that they think i am pissing my time away:

first of all-- say that to my face not online and see what happens fucker

secondly, i am constantly and consistently working on wonder knight radish. nearly every day for the past several months i have put in between 3 and 12 hours of solid work. it is incredibly time-consuming to build a game from scratch. this is on top of being a full time student. not that any of this is anyone else's problem or responsibility, but just giving those pondering a bit of insight.

a friends and family demo will be released some time between may 28 and june 1, but most likely may 28. i have vowed to myself to not shave until the demo is completed, and i aim to be true to my word. my beard and 'stache are already quite long so this is a pretty big deal. the demo will contain roughly the first 15 minutes of the game. enough to "get it." due to forces beyond my control, the demo might not have all of the final art assets, all of the final sound effects, and all of the final music. instead there may be merely decent looking/sounding placeholders. each demo will be secretly branded with the recipient's name, so that if it ends up on the pirate bay i'll know whose face to smash. because of this the internal demo will be a little exclusive, but most of the people who've posted in this thread will probably end up with a copy.    a slightly more polished public demo will be released once finalized assets are willed into existence.

finally, a lot of love and thanks to everyone who's shown support. i sincerely hope the game lives up to your expectations and you have a lot of fun.

lmao man i never saw this thread before and this is suprisingly crazy

is this gonna end up being a game that you can purchase online? cuz if so id like to know how much it would cost, i wouldn't mind supportin this
