Title: paranormal experiences
Post by: psi43 on October 31, 2009 05:47 PM
I know that rtil made a topic like that a while back but i don't feel like finding it again.

in that one topic about sounds rtil posted i found a link to a website that talks about a lot of paranormal stuff. One of them was about recording TV static, supposedly you should be able to see something then. Well, I tried:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGUaJ3WH7K0

At around 1:20 a ghost must have put a spell on me, because my nose suddenly felt funny and then wind and water shot out of my nose and mouth.

in all seriousness though, post paranormal experiences you've had.

I read somewhere that 1% of television static is light that was emitted during the Big Bang. I have visited a lot of supposedly haunted houses because I once lived in a historic town, but I haven't seen any ghosts.

omg psi i think the ghost punched your brain and made you do that don't mess around with it or it will come out of the tv

but in all seriousness, there are only two paranormal things that have happened to me, and one of them was actually last night, but it's really more flat out creepy rather than paranormal

when i was a kid my parents would send me to these christian camps in the summer. they were always in these campgrounds in the middle of nowhere in a forest, so it was pretty remote. one of the camps had this enormous building they hardly used, it looked like a barren concrete warehouse. it was mid-day on a wednesday and i was walking around in there by myself. i was bored and probably skipping some church event i was supposed to be at. suddenly i felt a very strong wind and it knocked me over flat on my back. it didn't hurt, but when i tried to get up i could not move. it felt like the wind was pushing down on my arms and legs. i tried to open my mouth but no words came out either. it was like a nightmare. i was stuck there for 15 minutes. then it suddenly disappeared. i was scared but for some reason i just walked out of there instead of decking it like you'd think i would. i can't explain it and i don't know what it was.

last night i convinced jenna to download a program on her iphone called the ovilus. the ovilus is based on a device that reads changes in electromagnetic frequencies and uses a phoenetic word base to attempt to convert them in to speech. you can see some shows on TV where they use similar device, like the very obnoxious and annoying "ghost adventures" team. a lot of the devices they use i think are stupid, and i thought this one was too, until i witnessed two bizarre occurences with the device. the first was on ghost adventures - they are in an old building that people have tried to renovate several times, but every time a crew comes in to do it something bad happens to them or they get injured. so the ghost adventures crew starts saying " we are going to renovate this place", and they put up ladders and whatnot, trying to rile up a spirit or whatever. they turn the device on. within a few seconds it speaks "REMOVE", and they ask, "remove what?", and it says "STEP", and shortly after, "LADDER". then one of the says, "what will you do if we don't remove the ladder?", and it responds, "YELL".

another instance was a local team using the original ovilus. they were actually in an abandoned floor of an old theater in seattle, i forget which one, somewhere on capitol hill i believe. as they were in the building, it had not said anything all night. suddenly it says "OUTSIDE", then "SCARY", then "OUTSIDE" again. moments later they heard gunshots in the alley.

so last night we turn it on and it stars saying a lot of random things. i couldn't make sense of anything really. but after a while it was more quiet, then i sat down with it and it said "AFRAID", and i said, "of what?", and it responded "DEATH". i turned it on again later and it started saying a lot of names. nobody i knew though.

i know, right

Quote from: rtilwhen i was a kid my parents would send me to these christian camps in the summer.

lmao

Quote from: rtil"what will you do if we don't remove the ladder?", and it responds, "YELL".

lmfao

i forgot to mention (I think i actually posted that in the other topic), friends of my family moved into a new house that was "haunted" they said. Things were moving around, they heard people talking in the night (from the livingroom), pictures flew off the walls, things were flying around and all that. All in the livingroom though. The way they told me and my family about that sounded really believable. They moved out half a year later because they couldn't bare it anymore. As soon as they moved into a new house, it was all gone, so it seems like the ghost didn't have anything against that family in particular.

Then, in some really old photo that I was like 10 years old on, there was a skull in the background, sitting on a tree. I've been trying to find the photo for a while now, everyone I know kept telling me "well it's probably just a bird" and i said "a white bird with 2 holes, shaped like a skull? shape wise it's more likely to be a globe fish". I'm sure my mom threw that picture away though.

And then, this one is kind of funny but really strange as well, when i was taking my dog out for a walk, i saw a rooster. And there are no farms within miles where i live, nor does anyone own a rooster here. When i passed by the same spot again, after turning around which took about like 15 seconds, the rooster was gone. Now it's pretty much logical that it went away but it was staying in the middle of a huge field, so it had to be a fucking fast rooster. And then again, where the fuck did it come from.

Then of course, some of you know about this one, there was the talking in my room, at night. I could hear very quiet talking, then moaning and within the wall it sounded like rats were crawling around (which is impossible because the wall was solid). I had a leather couche sitting right under my window(skylight window), and every night, even with closed windows, i heard water dropping onto the couch. As soon as i went to the light switch and turned the lights on, the noise was gone and the couch was completely dry. When i went back to bed, the sounds stopped for a good 15 minutes until they started again.
I was freaking out like fuck but eventually, it all stopped all of the sudden. I still have no idea what caused any of these noises, especially the talking since i also heard it when my parents and brother weren't at home. And it was only at night.

I remember back when I lived in Florida my little brother would start screaming for our Mum in the middle of the night. The reason why was because his electronic ambulance toy would start going off a few times. He told me years later that it stopped only when Mum would come in. There are probably a lot of explanations for this, but the only time it would do this was at night and it was always put away in the closet before my brother went to bed. If I remember correctly the toy would only go off if you pushed a button and the sound never looped. It didn't have a sensor or anything. Also I never had the same experience whenever I had it in my room. I believe the Ghost Hunters crew had a similar encounter and were able to debunk it. Can't remember what it was though.

I have experiences every now-and-then when I'd wake up in the middle of the night and get that awful feeling that something was watching me. Like, standing right next to me or hovering above the bed and just staring at me. The next thing that follows is either a.) I hear heavy breathing for at least 5 minutes and then it stops, b.) I feel something pushing me down the bed, or c.) I hear footsteps as if 'it' was running around my room. Could be my active mind playing tricks on me since this usually happens when I wake up in the middle of the night. I'm not so sure. I once placed a tape recorder in my room and managed to catch the heavy breathing I've been hearing. Unfortunately my Dad recorded over everything, so that bit of proof has long since been gone.

oh that reminds me, my TV sometimes turns itself on in the middle of the night, channel 7 for whatever reason. It's always static (since my cable isn't connected).

That happened quite a few times to me, i always get up, turn it off and then go back to bed again. It's the next day when i think about "who the hell turned it on?".

Ok, after about an hour of searching, i finally found the fucking picture.

And it turns out that it actually IS a skull there, in the background. It's really really tiny and sitting on a tree, but I will try my best to scan the photo and make it bigger.

It was like 2am on a wednesday night and my village is usually quiet as fuck at that time. Me and my friend headed over to the garage/gas station to get some more beer and on the way we heard something that sounded like a 50's band - not a recording being played but like an actual live performance. I thought it was just someone's TV or whatever so we pressed on.

Around 10 minutes down the road we heard it again and it got louder - we decided to have a walk around to see what the fuck it was but never found the source. nontheless it was fucking weird and im sure there's an explanation but in the meantime holy shit i listened to a phantom band

Ghosts don't exist yo

There's a warehouse near by me that's locally famous for being haunted.  Numerous rumors circulate around how a fire destroyed most of the building, killed a lot of workers and about how you can see their spirits floating around at night.  There's also one about how a girl was raped and then murdered inside a certian room, and if you go in there you can hear her crying or see her ghost.  ALSO, I've been told by an actual police officer that there are several police records of dead bodies being found inside the building...

Everyone who's been in there has said to have a paranormal experience.

I know the place like the back of my hand and I can guarantee I've been there more than anyone around here; and not once have I ever seen a ghost, heard someone crying or found a dead body.  I've givin tours to people who say they have had paranormal experiences, though.  Most people just beg to leave but, I've seen a few start crying and one girl even flat out fainted.

Its funny to how someones imagination can turn them into a complete pussy

you can't prove that "ghosts" don't exist yo, furthermore you can't prove they exist either. your story is kinda lame i mean of course most people are going to freak out when they go somewhere expecting to be scared, look at the audiences of "paranormal activity", people screaming and yelling over fake videotape footage. if you go out with the intention of having an "experience" you will probably allow your imagination to let it happen.the best stories come from people who don't believe in this kind of stuff and weren't expecting it

when I was a kid I was playing football with my mates and we were all having fun and stuff and then someone started yelling WHOA LOOK AT THE SKY and I looked up and I saw what seemed to be a fucking UFO right in top of us not more than 50 meters away from the ground

I instantly ran indoors to avoid the abduction ray and so did al the rest of the kids

then later on we came out and saw the UFo fly away and it turned out to be a bigass Globe, you know the ones with people flying in them i dont know how theyre called in english

and we all laughed because that thing REALLY looked like a fucking ufo if you looked at it right below and it was like 8 pm so we couldnt see a thing and on top of that its fucking mexico I had never seen one of those things except on tv!

Ok, today I decided to take my dad's mp3-player with a short-wave radio function, put on some static and lay down with my eyes closed.

After a while i started hearing "Hilf mir!" being shouted, various times. I didn't recognize the voice. Hilf Mir meaning Help me btw.

Anyways, i heard that "hilf mir" like every few seconds, always differently though. It was either hilf mir, hiiiiiilf miiiiir, hiiiiiilf mir or hilf miiiiiir. (Hilf being short for "Helfe", for those of you who know a bit of German but are confused).

Then I decided to change the frequency to a different static. Didn't hear the scream for help for a good 2 minutes before it started again. I changed to 4 different frequencies and it was always gone, for a few minutes, until it came back.

one time i went to the kitchen for a midnight snack and i heard a weird buzzing noise, as if someone was talking to me in a weird language. like buzzzzz buzz buzzzzz buzzz buz buz buz
i was freaked out and went out the kitchen and turned off the lights, but then the noise went away. i got back and turned the lights back on, and there it was again!
so i figured it was a ghost. but he was afraid of the light, and was screaming, telling me to turn it off...
