after having a three hour heart to heart with a good friend I've decided I'm leaving thebackalleys. I probably won't come back until freetown is released.

to be honest there is way too much drama here. and i really don't want to offend rtil by saying this but the forums are very miserable. there are about 10 members who post here. the only moderator is taylor who (even though hes my friend) doesnt do anything except pin stupid threads about jeb and edit all my posts and shit his opinions all over everything I say and do. its a fucking dictatorship here and to be honest i dont want to deal with it until rtil's cartoons start drawing more classy people and these forums become more than just a hang out for star syndicate members to dick around and pin threads about themselves all day as if it's the ss forums themselves. these forums are just about ryan miller relating and chatting with everyone on art and animation. if im not mistaken, thats the point of the boards. this is rtil's forum boards and it makes me feel bad that it's turning into a fucking ss clone.

it also pains me that I can't hang out and post my art and get constructive criticism on things. i dont even want to post my shit anymore because just about everything i post turns into some kind of flame drama war caused by a rude asshole comment by bortner or jeb. none of it is useful. none of it is actually saying "ok, here is what was good about it, here is what was bad about it." all I get is "this drawing really sucks dick" or "this animation was really gay".

tonight, this friend opened my eyes up on many fronts. i'm not going to improve if all the criticism i get is fucking forum board attacks. im going through some hard times at the moment. its no ones fucking business so dont bother asking me about any of it but i'm definitely more sensitive at the moment about shit than I would be if I werent. in his exact words "its better to go into an environment thats agreeable so you can just create"

finally, fuck everyone who's reading this thinking I'm trying to get attention. I care so fucking little about e-pity parties that im not even going to bother reading the replies to this thread. im just tired of going to a forum based around art/the works of a genuine animator acquaintance in which i have to deal with pretentious pricks who think they know everything (generally speaking that is)

so bye everyone good luck with your shit. nothing personal I honestly just would rather improve by chatting to folks who actually know what the fuck they're talking about and don't sit there trying to piss me off on a forum board all day as if it actually matters
