Well i am making a background for an animation i am making, and i need some help putting a glare on the ocean.
Any ideas?
UPDATED
there are two techniques i usually do with water:
1. an old technique called a slot gag. this consists of two layers:
- a layer with a bunch of white dotes/lines
- a mask layer with some holes in it
spin the mask layer around/move it in the opposite direction of the other layer and you have what looks like light glare on the water. if you do it really well this can almost look realistic
2. if i want an object reflecting i make a duplicate of it over the water, apply a layer effect. then i cut the object into quite a few horizontal slices. i then tween them back and forth very slightly making it look like they're waving back and forth. then i offset each one by a couple frames past the other, then it looks a little like a water glare. not the most realistic looking thing, but it does get the job done

Can you post an example?
Adam Phillips made a post about it (http://www.brackenwood.net/blog/index.php/2006/11/the-scribble-cel.html)
here, this is what i mean
the fla is attached so you can look at how i did it, too
the dots were made with the line tool - in the line tool properties one of the line styles is a sort of dot/scatter thing. i did it a bunch of times then used "convert lines to fills", because i hate lines
Thanks for the help guys!
I replaced the file up top to the completed glare...lots more work to do still
i think you need more glare than that idk
