Title: VFS vs Sheridan vs CAT
Post by: Gutfree on February 18, 2009 10:28 PM
I'm graduating in a year and a half, and I want to go to a school that will give what is needed to get employed and become qualified for whatever it is that I'd need for a career in animation/ the arts. My likely candidates right now are in varying parts of Canada; Vancouver Film School, Sheridan College, and Centre for Arts and Technology in Halifax. Other suggestions are welcome. I'd love for Sheridan to work out, since at the moment it is closest to where my girlfriend is going to be going to university. Info and or recommendations based on experience would be appreciated. Anyone?

Since nobody replied, do you have mrat's profile on hand? I don't know how to find him or whatever.

I recently graduated from the centre for arts and technology and it was a nightmare start to finish. The curriculum has huge gaps in it, the computers are outdated, instructors miss tonns of classes, and many of the instructors have no background in the areas that they are instructing in.

and the list goes on. Sheridan is top of the line for 2D animation, but for 3D you cant beat the reels that are coming out of VFS. It is however a one year program, and from what I hear, it is very intense and many of the students come from an art or 3d background, but their alumni do get jobs.

Hope this helps
