Hello everyone, I'm new here and i was looking for some tips on drawing. So far I've be just scribbling what has been coming to my head. I guess thats fine, but what i make just looks like something from a poorly made comic book. If anyone here is really good at making anime or anything like that, i would love to hear how you started drawing, and what you had to do to become so well at it. Thank you for your time.

whoa man, i'm gonna tell you now... those are dangerous words. almost everyone here hates anime, i am not one of them, but i wouldn't make it to too obvious that you want to know how to draw anime.

I'm not looking for anime... What ever work Rtil does, that is more of what i am wanting to learn, sorry about that, I'm not sure what its called then.  =^/

Yes well, thats true... But i wasn't looking for tips from Rtil, i was hoping anyone would inform me with something. But that was kind of a stupid question i asked, sorry.

god i really need to get that wiki out in the open

you can post your art or flash in the art uploads forum and i'd be happy to give advice. and other people too, on occassion.

Welcome!

I suggest that if you want to go for an anime looking style, check out some How To Draw Anime books from the library, as well as other forms of art.

I guess what I'm looking for isn't anime though, the reason i said anime is because i have no idea what the name of the work rtil does. Can anyone let me in on the name so i don't mention anime again, please. =P

it's pretty undeinable that there is a hint of anime influence in my style. when i grew up that was all i drew. i should have known better. now it will always be engrained in my art in some way or form. but, i'm not sure what you can call it. i myself can usually tell who drew what without someone telling me if i know there work, so i just call it name-of-person's  style.

It's just rtil's style. Like him, my style will always have influences from anime and manga, and I think my style is starting to evolve back into it again (goddamn), but I wouldn't want anyone to call it anime because it makes me cringe.
