Cowboy Bebop is a little to graphic even for adult swim, or so they seem to think anyway.
i don't think it's vary graphic at all, no nudity, not a whole lot of blood and/or guts. where's this extreme content?
The series has nudity (in both jupiter jazz episodes, as well as on posters and magazines through out). Head shots, violent death scenes, excessive fan service and other stuff that had to be toned down for TV 14.
i don't remember any actually nudity, nipples and such, there was plenty of fan service though. man, people should just get over it, who's it gonna die if someone gets shot in the head in an anime aside from the guy getting shot, or who's life is gonna be ruined if theres a boob or two on TV.

like animegamer said in jupiter jazz there is a nude scene. Faye walks in on Grencia Mars, or "Gren" in the shower, and he has breasts (due to drug abuse or something), so it looks like a woman in the shower. plus there are also scenes with posters/magazines that contain nudity in the show, like the little kids that try to steal a nudey magazine from that old lady's shop in Ballad of a Fallen Angel.

no, i thought thats what she meant, but i wasn't sure if you actually see his breasts, or if it's just implied that he's naked. like in the movie when that guy cuts off Fey's buttons on the top, although you assume their not being covered, you never actually see her breasts.
And those kids rock, i love that scene.

Alot of the edits are hard to notice, like changing sh it to da mn, removing god from a curse sentence, dititally editing out a little blood or a wound, maybe cutting a scene a second or two short.
As an example ill list the eits of the first few episodes from the original adult swim run:

1) Bullet hole through bartender's head covered over.
2) "God" bleeped out of Soul Bossa Trio's "God damned son of a bitch".

Actually the drug he used turned him into a woman. Faye revealed that in the shower scene by saying "woman". Although most may be thinking "shemale" if you look at the figure when he/she is wearing the dress its obviously female. They never go into detail on this though. (good thing actually)

On a different note
An adult swim board mod confirmed here going to use the same TV14 version they did in 2001-2002.
Adult swim standards have expanded a bit since then (TVMA 17+) as long as there is no nudity... but re-editing the series to fit this isnt worth it since its past its prime and there are newer shows to worry about.
Basically taking the original and just blurring nudity would make it TVMA and able to pass FCC standards, although maybe not the networks.
I remember when they edited out the gay couple the second time they aired it in Waltz for Venus. They edits out the bottom guy but kept his sound effect in there.
I'll probably record the episodes just for the hell of it, I record Bleach and Blood Plus in the same time slot and that only uses about half a blank dvd-r.

Yeah, a horribly drawn one, makes it obvious that there is something wrong with the picture. Like in those old as Tenchi Muyo shows were they had the horrible bikinis painted over the bodies.
what the hell is wrong with a boob or two, blood, swearing, or drug use in anime, everyone is just being to damn sensitive. and it's really just stupid because it gives people the wrong impression of a series.
for instance: "One Piece"
Not vary popular (although i still love it) but still a good example of Censorship gone totally out of control, beer and wine changed to water, real guns replaced with cork guns and water guns, or are coloured a funny colour (like green), cleavage is edited out, ALL swear words are removed from the script, that and all yelling (seriously no one yells at all), one of the main characters smokes, they've changed his smoke into a lolly pop, all blood has been changed into dirt, or removed entirely, all fatal attacks have been changed to look like non-fatal attacks. the changes just keep going.
the original anime was really good (in my opinion) but it got terrible PR in north America because of what "4 Kidz" (The company to fuck it up) did to it. it goes without saying that the company was shut down shortly after starting the dubbing, One Piece was their first and only project.

no way, 4 kidz bombed one piece a LONG time ago, and hey got shut down right after. mabey they got reopened under new management, good management.
One Piece was first shown in 2004. Yu-Gi-Oh was first shown 2000, adapted (and dubbed) by 4Kids. They dropped One Piece, but 4Kids, as far as the internet is concerned, never closed.
I hate the fact they're still up though. Every new anime they get is an anime destroyed by silly censorship and localisation.
