but mostly after seeing this, all im feeling is a wierd mixture of sadness and anger. this is like the culmination of years of faggotry finally resulting in something slightly humorous. the flood of stupid 4chan humor which has completely driven me away from every major website except here and the SS has finally spilled over into the mainstream. and as you know, if it wasn't already the gayest thing ever, it can only get gayer as it gets more mainstream. in a few years, e-humor and internet inside jokes will be unavoidable in every form of media, and a few years after that, itll be the norm. suddenly every faggot on earth will be in on the joke.

i've looked a little bit more into this, and basically what Oprah is trying to pull is to get millions of paranoid housewives to e-mail their senators to pass senate bill 1738 , otherwise misleadingly known as the "Protect Our Children Act 2007". i say misleading because it has the same mask as the Patriot Act - essentially, the name is the only good thing about it.

the bill proposes that $635 million taxpayer dollars be spent over the next 6 years to create an "Internet Crimes Against Children" task force in every state, which will work locally and nationally with the federal ICAC "National Data Center" to stop child sex predators. Basically, it's going to allow the federal government and law enforcement to tap deeper into people's private doings online in order to catch criminals before they commit crimes (ha). so, what will happen is you'll walk in to panera or starbucks or mcdonalds or any local shop that has a wireless signal, and before you connect to their wireless you'll have to give out all your personal information or the business will be committing a crime by not protecting children should you decide to talk dirty to them on AIM at their store.

oprah has put up a link to senate.gov on this page (http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahshow/20080911_tows_predators) telling people to copy, paste and e-mail a letter asking their senators to vote yes on the bill.
