a cute story, but the voice acting and music was awful, and the animation on mindy was overdone. i find that over-exaggerated lipsync with the tweens to boot didn't match up with the character at all. the voice didn't help either, mindy's va was probably the worst performance of all of them

i had to watch w/o sound

it was pretty cute and funny but after a few moments into it it did get a little boring. i also like some of the exaggerations but the whole cartoon was pulling a kappa mikey and so doing it nonstop. :x

but i did like it

Andrew Kepple has been one of my biggest inspirations for a while now, I love all his stuff.

There's an impromtu flash tournament going on at AlbinoBlackSheep right now and that's what that cartoon was made for. If you watch TMST's other entries, he's been showing off how he can pull off different styles.

First entry (open round) was a combintation of 1930s-1960s visual styles.
Second entry (round 1) was very experimental
Third entry (round 2) could've been something you saw on cartoon network or nickelodeon

I've been giving this guy high marks because I believe that this is the quality of stuff that you'd see in the real world. IT might help that he's a professional animator.

Yes, they're not the best quality, but that was also part of the challenge (to make it sound good).

The two that best pulled it off were TMST and Prof. Fate (prof. fate, actually had it remixed to sound really good, but he didn't finish his entry and was knocked out by someone else).

Actually, I agree with him. I mean did you read gerkinman's comment? First 2 paragraphs were perfectly fine (seeing as it is what is posted in this topic already). Then about the voices, they didn't really bother me but if you all complain about it then alright. The other thing that Gerkinman said about making the cartoon end earlier is pretty stupid cause as TmsT said, he wanted to make it a series and I think it's easier to do that with an ending like that instead of an ending that would be the cellphone going out into the woods END.

I know the way he gets his voices. He usually just holds auditions and his fans (none of whom are professionals,) send him recordings. This is just for the fun of letting his fans have a part in his cartoons. It doesn't contribute to his cartoon feeling professional at all and I'm sure Andrew knows this. I still find more entertainment value in his cartoons than almost anything on Newgrounds and even most crap on TV. But that's just my opinion the end.

i think regardless of what kind of quality people should expect on newgrounds, the bottom line is that TMST really can't seem to handle criticism. you'd think years of posting cartoons on NG would kind of give you a harder shell, but in this case it's just made them more defensive. and that makes them come off like a couple of holier-than-thou pricks, whether they mean it or not

and the word 'professional' is tossed around far too much. there are so many VA's and animators better than so-called professionals, there's really no excuse for a cartoon to suck because it wasn't 'professionally' made. besides, the second you justify your cartoon sucking is the second you've pretty much admitted you failed

Actually he took the criticism much more gracefully than Egoraptor did.

Also, I'm with Wappin that this, overall, is MUCH more entertaining than most of the cartoons that I've seen on Newgrounds.

That isnt what i was saying, i was talking about excess dialogue that served no purpose, some of the group phone scenes werent needed. There was tonnes of fat that could have been cut out of it.
