yeah i've been reading about this in my world literature class actually and it just adds to my distaste of religion in general. I haven't read anything about "Persian Zoroastrianists" yet though but yeah I read about Utnapishtim and all this though.

The relationship between mortals and gods is always interesting.
I love it how Gilgamesh just wants to cut down a holy cedar tree, just because he believes that you need to do great things in your life and that divine laws should not interfere with that.
Normally, in many stories in many diffirent cultures, mortals get punished for their arrogance, for committing hybris.
However, Enkidu gets punished instead of Gilgamesh.
The part with the bull is fuckin great as well.
Gilgamesh was the first Mesopotamian epic I ever readed.
