The animation in Aladdin is fairly godly. Everybit as good as the work in Met Circuit or Waterlollies. The end was absurd, but who cares, maybe he wanted it to be absurd.

The Composer didn't even make me laugh until after it was over. The whole time through I was just disgusted. JAZZA and I talk sometimes, and he's aware of my thoughts on The Composer, and even he agree the response to it was a little absurd. If you want something touching about a fucked up family that ends with the entire story coming full circle, go watch the damn Lion King.

I watched it and was bored most of the time. I mean it looked smooth and some of the things went on tune with the music, but it just didn't keep my interest too well.
I'd have a hard time choosing between Waterlollies and Project Freetown: Metropolis Circuit, though I actually didn't think Aladdin 3150 was nearly as good.
It was well done no doubt, but the other two are much better in my opinion.

I'm going through all the movies watching em all.. and not really thinking about em in terms of picking one but just watching... i have this utopian feel that 'the one' will grab me by the balls and say i pwn.
Today i watched composer, reinland and aladin
I guess im kinda biased on composer.. it just irks me cause complex issues like that dont resolve so easily.. and if they do why werent mine resolved (lol).... i dont like it when serious movies just 'work out' in the end... i didnt sit outside my porch and cry all day.. i didnt cry at all.. i just grew up with a chip on my shoulder. I digressss
reinland was pretty good. The characters were more memorable than composer and the technique was pretty good. I am heavy on typography and i found interrupting the animation with that part III engaged shit was distracting and didnt add anything to the movie. I also dont like credits that drag deep into the movie.. Dont be fancy just present your credits and get to the movie.
Aladin, good movie. I like how unusual it is in its setting and time period. Filters are kind of problematic on some parts and a few parts are georgeous and some look very rushed. I think so far that one is the best of the bunch. at the end of the movie i felt like i wanted ot know more about that futuristic middle eastern setting.. where as reinland i didnt really connect with the whole anthill thing after the aftermath...
meh wanted to share that outside of newgroundzzz so i picked this place. i wish store of khale was on the panel

i think to this date benjamin wigmore is the only maker of serious dramatic flash that i really love on NG. i think everyone else who tries to pull it off fails miserably by being overly sappy and maudlin. for instance, xander burgess... ugh god his flashes make me want to vomit.
the way wigmore does it though, it has real feeling and emotion. i also loved bozophilia and especially chillz story, god that was incredible. i especially love his unconventional drawing style.

i have decided how i am going to make a list
i am going to go to the pet store and buy a bunch of gerbils. i am going to tie little switchblades to their bodies and label each one with the name of one of the nominated cartoons.
then i shall toss them into the dryer for half an hour.
at the end of the half an hour i will open the dryer. the gerbils will then be sorted according to how deep their injuries are.
the 5 with the highest injuries will be ranked, and the corresponding cartoons made onto my list.
in this fashion, i not only make a top 5 list, but i also eliminate the need to use my brain, and i rid the world of a pack of horrible vermin.
i can see no downside to this.

my top 3 are aladdin, freeland and socklops
aladdin was smooth, fast paced and creative. i admit the dinosaur thing was a bit farfetch'd but it got away with it
metroplois curcuit was fluid, fast and fun. even though it probably had less of a plot than the other two, it made up for it by having the best character animation
socklops, whilst having the most basic animation, was just hauntingly genius. the dialogue and imagination was great

Okay I just rewatched it and yea Im not sure what I was thinkin. It was actually pretty nicely animated. Except for a lot of the hair. The hair looked really jerky but other than that yea nice animation
The thing I hated about it was the whole dinosaur thing and the part where hes flashin back about all the good times they had...even though they like just met. I thought that was really corny and cliche. And also the part where its a wideshot of the city like right in the begginning. Cause the buildings look like chicken scratch except for the big one. Course Im comparin it to Metropolis Circuits backround.
These are prolly just little nitpickins though...except the dinosaur part and the corny part...that really does irk me

Okay so I just got done watchin em all and uhh no ones mentioned Stranger Forest! I really liked it infact I liked it more than Aladdin!
Only problem with stranger forest I had was the people looked kind of stiff (Cept the tiki dancer) but other than that I thought it was nice!
