this guy fred perry uses a program called mirage studios:

this was all made in that program. the brushes are very nice and it seems to support most of the functions of flash, only more complex. let me know if you know anything about the program because i thinking about using it

uh ok
I've used mirage. It's nifty in terms of it's power and stuff, but it's a nightmare to interact with.
What took me a day to figure out in Flash took me a month in Mirage. I stopped using it. I dno, I say try it out at least because you can do some interesting things with it.
it's not the tool that the animator uses but the animator that's using the tool. just because someone made something nice in mirage doesn't mean you couldn't do the exact same thing in flash. i highly doubt you'll start using that program anyway

well mirage does have neat painter brush things, so you can do painted backgrounds right in it, which i suppose you could do with flash, but it would make the file huge and be annoyingly hard.
But yeah, I agree.
I hope they implement custom brushes in Flash Next, thatd be swell.

adobe never adds anything decent to its software
example: photoshop
lmao yeah
photoshop's brush tool has not changed since 7, maybe even earlier
they will probably do the same with flash, i doubt you'll see any changes that are beneficial for the art side of things
however the psd import was a great feature
i do got to say it looks neat
does it export swfs?
yeah that does look sweet just the fuzzy compression bullshit
i actually like the fuzzy compression, it makes it look like its stolen from TV and that looks professional

Ever since MX came out, I wrote Macromedia an email and asked if they could gradient masking. That something disappears half way, if you know what I mean. They didn't add it. Then the next flash came out, which was 8 I think and I sent them ANOTHER email asking the same thing (adobe then, not macromedia) and they didn't respond. Now CS3 is out and I sent them another email and doubt they'll add it to flash next. It would make so many things by far easier.
Gradient masking is probably the most asked for feature in my part of industry. It'd save us alot of filesize in banners rather then having to find ways "immitate" the effect.
Quotelmao yeah

Atleast in photoshop you can install your own custom brushes.
