Since I'm making my flash movie I might show you guys my uh...things! It still sucks though I'm still learning how to animate and draw properly. I hope this is a good start though...
Look pretty good. Keep up the good work.
I'd critique something, but I'm really bad at finding things to critique in artwork, but I'll try.
The lighting where the girl is could use some work. Maybe have the blue reflect off of the trees or something.
Looks great so far.
the girl looks cool, the line thickness on the hat is kinda weird just cause flash has that tendency. you should check how Adam Phillips does dark woods, i personally think the silhouetted look you got goin is a bad idea
cool character. i like the blue lighting
Looks very good, but the shading on the girl looks a bit too gradient-y... unless that's the look your looking for of course (:

You know, I actually watch Brackenwoods movie so many times and I forgot about it... I better check it out.
And thanks for your comments everyone!
I like the silhouettes myself, but the whole colour of the piece collectively feels sort of muddy and makes it looks dank.
Perhaps trying and sort out the lighting. Blue lighting is awesome, but it's too heavy I think.

Hmm, I think what I'll do is I'll redraw the trees properly and add more features to it. But turn it's brightness down so I can add more detail + still keep the silhouettes look
I'll try to sort out the lights and shades though.
i think the blue background blends too well and you need color that will stand out rather than blend in
I redesign my character a bit, I felt that the old one was a bit "too complex-looking." I was trying to go for a more simple look. What you guys think?
I actually enjoyed the first design because of her tie and her >:C pocket seemed to make her unique, in my opinion. :3
The second drawing seems drawn differently from the first... as if a different style...
But I liked the first one better because it showed more of a personality through the clothes
I guess the first one is still the best after all. Thanks guys
i prefer the first drawing.

yeah same. if you want to simplify it just get rid of all the triangles on the bottom of her skirt. that's a lot of follow through you probably don't want to worry about
Actually that's what I'm planning to do. Removing the spikes on her skirt.
And BTW thanks for the textures site.
I finally got the Wacom Bamboo Fun. Testing! (This will probably be the flash movie bg.)

I like those woods more.
You didn't draw them in flash did you?

The shape on these are good, but the color is waaaay too blue. Try using only black, white and light blue, and see how that works out.
I drew it with Corel Painter Essential 3.
I'll give it a try with the colour
ok here we go, black, white and light blue.
it's nice
Well, I've finally came up with her final design (while doodling.) She will look something like this:
I know the water coloring is kinda messy but it's pretty fun.
Ok screw that doodle. I redraw it properly this time.
I think I sort of overkilled it with texture applying.
EDIT: I just realized I forgot to fix a small spot.
the latest one is obviously better looking
i like the way you colored the girl and the tree
and the broken up stuff in the bg is nice
