tell me whatcha think
good bad
i didnt watch it
thanks i'll keep that in mind
i liked the mix of media. digital and real video always looks interesting when mixed together
I loved it. I left a review detailing my every thought. It gave me a boner. It was awesome. I want to see the full length thing. Boner.
::smile::
To be completely honest, this was so boring that I x'd it out after that real life video appeared. Before that video appeared it seemed to be 90% rootscoped(sp?), after that video nothing was really well done anymore. I liked the backgrounds and that painting effects but that pretty much was it.
made it seem like there was a message there that isnt there but im probably gonna get flamed for saying that

Yeah, I was wondering about the same. It looked like a flash that wanted to be deep but was more random than that.
I got the impression he was just rambling about life being boring and repetitive. Nothing else though.
some of the video and video mixed with art was cool, but i think for your animation the resolution was just too large because your linework is too rough and unfinished. i also think that the rotoscoping in the beginning was probably the worst part.
i also really wish you'd ditch the floating text stuff. people hate having to read when they're watching video, it's like having subtitles when there's no need for it. record it yourself and distort your voice, do something interacting with the music or ambience. the text just bored the hell out of me. otherwise, it's always refreshing to see something different. it wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either.
i think i got your message

some of the effects were cool. it must have been really hard to make. It looked really cool, but it was just kind of boring, and the part that Rtil mentioned about reading the text is absolutely true. I mean, some times it's a better effect for like, two or three words, but the whole thing in text just feels like reading a book, and you're being rushed to get to the end of the page before it changes. Still, it had a lot more meaning than most flashes you'll see on the front page of newgrounds these days. of course, that's not really saying anything.

maybe you should actually watch the whole thing before asking someone to explain it to you
anyways i do admit i pretty much just wrote some shit down so that I would have something to build an animation around
but I did spend a shitload of time on it and it seems like all some people can focus on here is the text. Please keep in mind It's not about the story, it's more about the mood of the piece. If you don't like the text feel free to not read it for all I care. I spent a few days writing that, and a few months on the actual animation.
i liked that notorious.
i think you kind of repeated yourself too much but i didn't get bored at all. because the feeling was incredibly despairing and i am familiar with it, and the concept of insignificant lives interests me
except the whole thing gave me no real revelation, like there was nothing incredibly poetic that i could remember. basically it's not memorable as a flash
and i also like some of the more dramatic moments like when the text says "Nothing." and then there's this black splotch behind it.
keep working sonny
if the text is not the focus of the piece, and people are paying attention to the text, you've drawn too much attention to the text in your cartoon.

that is true. What I really wanted to do was experiment with rotoscoping (by no means would I say I can actually do it well, but for practice) and make an atmospheric piece with lots of art. But if I just did that and didn't include text or story, people would just be like 'WHERE'S THE PLOT', so I had to put that in there somewhere.
I'm not always so good at incorporating a story into my animations, especially when I'm trying to do something I haven't done before, so the only way I can think to do it is put text in.
like i said before, i think the most effective way of doing something like that would be to record it and play around with audio. text in my opinion, is boring and takes away from all art and animation pieces

While I generally agree, I really loved the text in Notorious' Oxygen thing.
you would

I was, I'll admit, a bit cynical about this at first, and I couldn't take you at you word. I did however put some faith your way, enough at least that I'd do a couple google searches and checked up on this. And yeah, it turns out you were 100% right.
I would.
