-make new blank keyframes, don't draw and erase over previous ones
-don't make the outlines of your background larger than the outline of the foreground elements. it takes focus away from the actual subject of the cartoon
-don't draw so amazingly small. you've got a whole stage to work with, use it

for a very first attempt it wasnt bad, atleast youre heading in the right direction and not starting with sprites or some shit.

the timing was pretty good, id improve your framerate with the missile bit though, looked kinda choppy

=[ it was a plane... I don't know how to change the frame rate. Wouldn't it change it for everything else too?

yeah, but 12fps is pretty slow. its in the properties tab at the bottom, for a beginner id reccomend 16/18 fps. most people i talk to work at around 20 - 24 fps

Try doing stick figures for a while, then do a few fully tweenable character model after learning to draw, then do full body fbf.

btw, if you can't draw worth crap, this should all take you at least 2 years to make it to get decent with fbfing full bodies.

character design should be the least of your concern
learn the basics before you go rushing into everything else

also, i think that using onion skin could help out a bit. http://anipedia.thebackalleys.com/index.php/Onion_skin (http://anipedia.thebackalleys.com/index.php/Onion_skin)

I'm not really in it for the animation. More the art part. I've got some friends here to help me out with the animation and stuff(just found out today) so I really just want to learn how to draw. I'm actually majoring in Graphic Design and I'm learning a lot of stuff this quarter in school. Next quarter I'm starting flash and 3D modeling.

if you're in it for the art you should try using photoshop or painter instead.

OIC Well thank god I've got a class in photoshop this quarter. I might try animation later but for now, I'll just stick to the(hopefullly) less complicated stuff.

holy shit this is amazing, the blur effects were perfects coordinated with the different backgrounds and gave a real perception of distance, almost as if it was 3d!

The graphics (need it not be said) where other wordly, beautiful hand painted backgrounds complimented amazing color pallete

I liked it when mario fell on the ice haha that was funny

overall this was an amazing submission, detailed and could tell you spent time on it

10/10

And I won't/didn't. After only full 2 days of classes I've learned a lot about photoshop, falsh, and Illustrator. Not really thanks to my teachers as much as other student's there. This is what I was able to pick up.

don't use the line tool to draw, and avoid gradients for now. the flaming apple thing on the right is the only half-decent looking thing, but i have no idea what anything else is in the picutre. the head is .. interesting. just dont' use the line tool like i said, use the brush instead

Alright. The rest of it is Australia. Took a Google satellite photo and just free-transformed it. That's a little bit of my crazy showing.

Ok so I did a quick remake of the face using the brush in photoshop instead of Illustrator. Didn't feel like coloring it. Too much work and HTML coding to do for that.
