Just at the start of this month, I managed get myself a copy of Adobe Flash Professional CS6 working in the year of our Lord 2024. I'm gonna spare the details of how I managed to get it working to avoid trouble and get to the point.

Since the history of this site is related with Flash and it's users are familiarize with the software (Including the owner of this place) and I got a little bit of animation knowledge, not to the point of calling me an experienced one, but at least I know how to draw which is the basic minimum requirement. and as a proof I made a basic loop with some principles applied here (https://thebackalleys.com/forum/index.php/topic,14128.20.html). so I'm here to seek again for advice and knowledge In this place to make a silly Flash cartoon to get it blammed on Newgrounds.
I've never used CS6 on purpose; I don't hate it, I just never had a decent computer to use it on.

This guy rigs together what looks like the ugliest drawing of "the Flash" I've ever seen , but for puppet--symbol based animation, that is the general idea; you're trying to put together an ugly puppet with registration points for movement. Other methods are like frame by frame stuff. I think most people are familiar with both.
If you can draw, its just going to take a couple of extra steps to make those drawings move. There are books on libgen if you feel that compelled, but I think most ppl are used to this:

i feel like you'd have to try really hard to get something blammed on newgrounds these days.. or not try at all, idk. it's definitely more lenient than it used to be - mostly because there's way less stuff being uploaded.
what do you want to know? if you're in to frame animation, you don't need to know how to use much more than keyframes and the onion skin. and the actionscript camera is useful - i think it might be built in to the software now, but it probably is shit.

I hope someone has a copy of flash v-cam.
It might not be difficult to reprogram again if its gone in the internet ether but who knows.
I thought it was just a 'smart movie clip' people rotated/panned/scaled to get the things they animated on stage into view

To see some pretty impressive flash demos to peak at proper optimized flash game code for some pretty impressive stuff. Although the code wont mean a whole lot; theyre just really good examples of what couldve been done in flash.
His tilebased game tutorial is gone, but he managed to make tilebased mario before whatsit had made "Super Mario Crossover"

I gotta ask tho like, There are a lot of gamemaking tools that have superseded flash; and none of these are going to work outside of ruffle on the web; A lot of people are going to tell you to try something newer, I've been told this too often. So whats the deal? You just really like flash huh??? B)

Flash still has a place In my heart and the rest of us. I really don't know how can I benefit from this but its fun to learn and experiment with old web standards.

I think my time on newgrounds/flashscene is closing tho. 4chan got owned by someone uploading a pdf file; so they blocked uploads on /f/. That board was so significant for feedback for me idk.
I've been on Newgrounds' supporter program forever now (just the $2.99 monthly one), but I never really go there to watch anything anymore. It was so important to me once and I don't want it to go away.
Although I'm honestly pretty devastated that /f/ is gone (and so suddenly), trying to seek out some sort of alternative. I imagine one of the other chans has something perhaps, but it'll never be the same.
