2 nights ago i fell asleep listening to
the tired sounds of stars of the lid & had a dream where i was platonically showering with another man. it wasnt sensual or erotic in any way, we were just in the same shower at the same time, handing the soap back & forth. anyway post your favorite ambient/drone music, background noise, et cetera, anything cool that is "as ignorable as it is interesting"
your story reminds me of something not nearly as gay unfortunately. when i was a junior in high school i was listening to the radio while lying on my bed and this came on and i fell asleep to it cuz it was so relaxing. i woke up in the morning not knowing what i had heard, and i had to email the deejay of the show that played the night before to see if he'd tell me what was playing around that time cuz back then in the caveman days shazam and shit didn't exist. fortunately he replied and sent me a list of some tracks and after going through a few i found it and that's how i discovered sigur ros. i don't listen much to this kind of music but i'd say this track definitely introduced me to it. it's funny cuz that radio station used to mostly play buttrock and numetal during the day, but at night they had different shows that would play all kind of music.
I don't have any song-related dream stories but in the realm of ignorable but interesting music I quite like Cosmo Sheldrake's birdsong things:
Sometimes he sings also but that becomes less ignorable.
this is debatably "ambient" but it's soothing & mysterious
personal favorite track is "WR" at 10:20
Falling asleep to music reminds me of the time I was listening to Kate bush and wake the witch came on and it scared the shit out of me.

i fell asleep listening to
the tired sounds of stars of the lid again, no weird dreams this time but my right airpod got squooshed into my ear and even after i got up, showered, drove to work, etc. my ear kept popping / unpopping all day long. it finally stopped somewhere on my drive home. be careful :junior:

One of my dreams I still remember is one where me and my brother were looking for the same Nintendo DSi we use to have when we were kids on the mall we used to go back in my country, it was the same mall, the biggest, popular, and oldest one of the island but the main difference is that all was black and white and everything was in dark instead of the silver, orange, white, and blue, Illuminated by the natural lights of the roof windows and the locals and everything was looking flat, like an untextured map of a 3D game without the advertisement, the businesses, kiosks, and the Caribberan theme of the mall (the brand of the mall have a different theme depending of the city and state), the only light on the place was the local my brother and I were looking for the DSi casting from the only entrance visible and it was only one light, I really don't know it was nighttime at the dream or the roof windows were not there, but it was dark, inside were display tables, the typical ones for phones and such and there was a lot of people there. the dream ends there, there's not a clear ending for it, not that I remember beyond that.
I got a similar one before this one that was almost the same, except that It was on the first place my family used to live when I was pretty young, an apartment on the touristic side of the island, dark, but this time was just black and white instead of looking flat and it was clearly nighttime by looking at the outside by the window. there was a breeze and the white curtains were moving due to the window being open. the only light that was turn on the place was from the bathroom. nothing really happened there but it was the place that keep me with me because it looked exactly as I remembered that place. maybe it might mean something...? I don't know.
My mom and I we talk from time to time about dreams we have since she knows about it, she said that black and white generally is associated with nostalgia, that might explain why those places and the look. but those dreams were pretty specific, specially the first one (the one before the mall one). that one still intrigues me to this day.
I think this track from Selected Ambient Works Volume II is the most appropriated one for this couple of dreams.
Idk man seems kinda gay to me.
I'm not really sure if this is ambiance but something about it makes me uneasy and calm at the same time and I don't really have a story to share, at least not at the moment.
