Ok uhhh I barely remember what I read, it went something like:

>Girl meets guy
>Girl meets guy again
>Guy texts her
>Goes on date
>Girl is afraid of being murdered on drive to date
>Gets feelings for him
>Decide to go to an adult bar
>Girl gets thrown out
>Guy decides to take her home
>Girl is afraid of being murdered at his house
>"Sorry I'm a cat person"
>They're about to do it
>Girl is drunk
>Girl wants to back out of sex in her head!! LIKE RIGHT NOW!! OMG!!!
>They do it
>Guy blows his load over her ass, face and titties omg
>She leaves
>Makes up imaginary friend to laugh at how bad Guy was at sex
>Does not text
>Does not call
>Guy shows up at bar near her dorm
>Guy texts her several times
>Calls her a "whore"
>The end

The end.

Okay this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's not a very good story but it is a great study of the contemporary sexual market. I think anyone who's been in a casual relationship with someone they didn't really like could see themselves in one party or the other, though obviously this would largely be split along gender lines. All women are a little bit like the narrator and all men are a little bit like Robert, minus specifics. It's biology.

TL;DR: white girls not even once but that said I would seriously suggest reading it, though people like yourself and rtil in stable relationships have less to gain from it I imagine.

So weird part of this is that I'd actually read this story a month ago when it was sent to my mother's literary journal and she sent it to me.

I have absolutely zero recollection of reading it even though the .pdf is in my downloads folder so I must have been either very very drunk or it's just an extremely forgettable story unless there's controversy swirling around it. Or both.

I think I have a drinking problem and in a roundabout way this story has set me on the path to improvement.

Thank you New Yorker.

Story or thread.

A lot of young women seem to identify with the story so I'd suggest reading it. It's like a window into their minds that we don't often get uncensored.

Possibly I've given up on dating girls? Getting tired of being seen as a threat/intimidate just cause I have possession of a penis.

That's fair.

I think the issue this story highlights is more the fact that both characters was treating the other like porn. He wanted "to fuck a girl with nice tits" and she liked "As they kissed, she found herself carried away by a fantasy of such pure ego that she could hardly admit even to herself that she was having it. Look at this beautiful girl, she imagined him thinking. She's so perfect, her body is perfect, everything about her is perfect, she's only twenty years old, her skin is flawless, I want her so badly, I want her more than I've ever wanted anyone else, I want her so bad I might die."

They're both toxic narcissists beyond salvation and will die alone. I wonder if the author was even aware of this. If not she's equally bad and knowing what her demo is like this is probably the case.

I really hate this story. Liek who eats Red vines?

That ending was lol. I bet it was based off a real life experience. (https://www.newyorker.com/books/this-week-in-fiction/fiction-this-week-kristen-roupenian-2017-12-11).

I wouldn't swear off an entire gender because someone in the new yorker wrote about them ;)

This post from the New Yorker didnt convert me. I had this opinion long before and what Bam said about uncensored stuff just seems useless to me personaly because this just seems to be a stereotype and can't apply to the next girl you'll meet.

But if that's the case why give up on girls?

The next girl you meet won't necessarily be this critical, but everyone makes comparisons to their last partner. Women just tend to be more eugenically holistic whereas men compare things separately (tits, personality etc.)

Just don't be a Robert. That's all you can do really.

What do you mean by don't be a Robert? That's the first time I've heard that. Also I start to see it as a waste of time on both sides, just beginning to realize it just isn't working out or right for me.

I just meant don't be like the guy in the story. I think that's good advice for anyone. It won't stop girls from being like Margot but it might keep us from trying to date women like that.

What makes you think it's not working out?

Some back story about myself. I have never been close to a relationship, never have childhood friends that stayed cause I kept moving after middle school because of family. 6th grade(queens, ny), 8-9th (Armenia, last grade there was 11th so I somehow skipped a grade by transferring but it changed to 12th now), 10th(Manhattan), 11-12th(back to queens, ny), QCC(2012-2014), CCNY(2015-2016 dropped out atm). So a big 1 is no school friendship solidified to build up any sorta chemistry. It was hard to relate and even get to exchanging contact info status. Idk I find making connections with irl people hard enough already. Shit like discord made it easier to get connected with people cause everyone is there to meme around and share art/hobby. Thinking about this stresses me out a ton and also about girls that look for a man for optimal off springs my genes contain shortness and male hair loss. I'm 23 and I got the M hairline of a 50yo

(edit) forgot to mention I found a grey hair that fell off on to my hand while shampooing in the showering today. Also since hair loss basically acts as if my hair is a virus and my body tries to literally delete hair. My head hair grows out weird, its not straight, and its not curly, its this weird multi joint pube like hair. Boi I got junkrat hair and it doesn't suit my body. This only started after the start of 2016

Normies get out.

Yeah Tiko I've only been in relationships that were offshoots of my social clique. Idk how anything else would even work honestly.

I'm short too. At least there's charisma.

Why date real women when you can create one out of the earth, one of your ribs, your faith, and the fires of tradition
