i recently received a very generous early christmas gift of a nintendo switch, breath of the wild and super mario odyssey. so now that i have one i might as well start using it!
first of all, here's my friend code if anyone wants to add me: SW-7914-9673-1982
what are the best games for the switch? looks like there's a ton of stuff i can download besides physical games. i really don't know much about the switch titles beyond the obvious ones like splatoon, mario kart and ARMS.
I haven't looked into the Switch a whole lot and I'm sure its gimmick (at the risk of sounding like a bitch) is pretty cool. I'm not really in the position to buy a new console any time soon but for sure if you were gonna pick up Pokken at some point then the DX edition for Switch would be the way to do it, considering they deliberately decided to leave content out of the Wii U edition for no reason other than to make it Switch-exclusive so people would buy the Switch. So my only exposure to the Switch so far has been that bullshit that all major companies seem to pull when they're trying to push a new product but that considered I'm sure it's pretty good despite this.
How are you finding Mario Odyssey? It's apparently the next best thing since canned bread.
considering i'm not a fan of either tekken or pokemon i don't think that game is for me, but i haven't played the original.
i have played mario odyssey for a grand total of maybe 20 minutes but initial impressions are that it's very well polished and keeps you busy. mario feels a bit like he's constantly walking on butter though and the camera likes to be annoying sometimes. you have to move it a lot to get it to point at where you want it to.
puyo puyo tetris
snipper clips
rayman legends
id also say sonic mania but you already have it on steam.
ive heard sonic mania is a better experience on the switch.
i have an xbox controller for pc so mania was great. plus pc supports mods, and i have every file with the master emeralds except tails and all the unlocks except one. not to mention i bought the collector's edition so i think i'm set on mania.
love puyo puyo but not tetris, so maybe on that one. i'm guessing snipper clips is multiplayer based on what i've seen.
never played a rayman game so i'll have to look into it
If you're into futuristic/high speed racers (F-Zero, Wipeout, Distance, RedOut) I recommend Fast RMX. Visually one of the stronger games on the Switch as well.

It's pretty cheap and comes with a decent amount of content. Online is probably quiet/dead at this point, though.
Apparently the Doom port is pretty good, but as an FPS it's probably better played on PC.
yeah i have doom on pc. but i always liked the f-zero franchise
Who on discord bought you a Switch and will they buy me one as well.
Kusoge I would recommend:
Controversial Tubular Boob Game (Xenoblade Chronicles 2)
No More Heroes 3 (No More Heroes 3)
Dragon Quest XI
Kusoge I would sort of recommend:
Blaster Master Zero (Plat)
Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star (Musou)
Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle (3D Twin Stick Shooter/Fighter)
Kusoge ports:
Disgaea 5
Rayman Legends (seconding)
Namco Museum (depending on if it's the version with the actual virtual museum)
Kusoge I would not recommend:
Breath of the Manchild (shit)
you'll have to step up your cute anime grill irl act to have a chance
all these games are the nth in their series but it doesn't seem like it matters if i haven't played any of their predecessors
Xenoblade and DQ are standalone mostly.
MHM 1-2 are def worth playing if they show up in the Switch shop.
i only got time for 1 or 2 games at a time this is gonna take a while

Xenoblade isn't related to the Wii & N3DS version at all? I've intentionally not looked into it yet because I haven't finished the previous one and didn't want spoilers.
Same universe new cast. I don't think it's like Xenosaga where you had to play them in order.
Also Bayonetta 3 was announced yesterday along with the first two and I'd add those to your list of must-plays tbh.
Note: none of the games in these series are very long.
By which I mean NMH and Bayonetta.
Xenoblade I sunk in around 200 hours before finishing the main quest.
i haven't touched my switch recently but i played splatoon 2 a lot for some reason
i also played mario kart 8 for a very large amount of time on wii u but am not gonna pick it up on switch for obvious reasons
i probably liked zelda the most actually, though i also played it on wii u
i was the most satisfied with that over a lot of other nintendo games for a long time
also i got puyopuyo and it's pretty much exactly what it sounds like, but the cute chibi anime stuff is endearing
I love the Switch. It was easily the most played platform in the last year for me, except the PC of course. I just hope they wrote about testosterone boosters (http://www.jimcrowhistory.org/) releasing good games for it and not BS like Labo, or what ever the name of that is.
