He's a Chinese transgressive 2deep4u photographer whom Yvonne should really explain why she likes in more detail by 6pm EST or risk flunking the class.

His photographs might make you recoil into a ball, Jon.

Along the lines of Dali's photographs of nude women.

there was a big part of my life where i was pretty obsessed with the work of a dude called mervyn peake

he was an illustrator and writer, more specifically his series of books entitled Ghormenghast which is basically what im recommending. theyre truly bizzare, the best way to describe them is fantasy of manners.

but yeh his illustrations and paintings were all pretty wonderful, and theyre definitely worth looking into as well

im listening to this musician called 'car seat headrest' and ive identified with a little too hard. i assumed it was gonna be corny, but instead i feel like this is the first time in my life where i've enjoyed something to the point of getting obsessed and upset. i didn't know this could happen but i need to make sure that im getting inspired to create something on an equal level and not get bitter and jealous and doubtful or whatnot.

im glad everyone has had similar infatuations. cool recs. we should give things the benefit of the doubt because it sure can be worth it. just looking at the same old sites is lame when i can be absorbing so many new experiences

"Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it's just not that good. It's trying to be good, it has potential, but it's not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn't have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I've ever met. It's gonna take awhile. It's normal to take awhile. You've just gotta fight your way through." -Michael Bay

I would love to go through Cindy Sherman's work.

Through searching her up, I found Adrian Ghenie and Justin Mortimer.

I really like Erik Thor Sandberg's paintings as well.

I guess yeah I've gotten "too into" various anime like Gakkougurashi, Flip Flappers, Anohana, etc. that are really beautiful when they start out to the point I'm pretty much catatonically blissed out while watching them, but they so often succumb to bathos (wasn't nearly as bad with FliFla as the other two) and I always feel a piece of my soul leave my body when this happens because I was so spiritually invested in my own catharsis. Other things have made me spew because of how invested I was in them but that's way rarer #chronicles_in_autism.

anime is one doubt I have given few benefits to. I know I'm missing out- dust has told me to watch this one show and I forget what it was called. If I said yes to every time dust told me to watch a show, I'd be happier. I make no time. Some post apocolyptic thing. I want to have an experience like yours one day.

I read the bearfoot gen manga on a whim (first vol) and I was engrossed in it. That was worth it.

I reccomend this comic to anyone just because I love seeing their reactions. http://drop-out.webcomic.ws/comics/first/ (http://drop-out.webcomic.ws/comics/first/)

World of warcraft, so much hours lost doing dumb shit. It wasn't appealing at first hated the game, but after a while you make stupid goals and feel compelled to reach certain levels to see what the game is like. After reaching the highest level time you then set new goals on stupid shit and eventually it takes so long to do anything you get used to just sitting hours doing nothing. That game had some great moments that will never be recaptured and will surely be forgotten but I do not regret it.
