I may get one if I ever get a spare 300 dollars, Breath of the bunghole seems like quite a good game and a refreshing break from both zelda and standard open world meme games, It personally gives me the vibe of being the magic medieval version of what MGSV was *supposed* to be

I try not to give naysayers (http://www.zam.com/article/1365/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-review) too much credence simply for going against the grain (http://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild), but don't forget SS (http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword) and UT (http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/undertale) received similar universal praise at launch.

I think giving players "exactly what they (think) they want" is dangerous because they almost never actually know what would make a game good before playing it, which leads you to cultivating promotional personalities based on hubris and God-complexes, which lead to games like FO4 and NMS.

Nier: Automata on the other hand is actually incredible do believe the hype. Hats off for Yoko Taro he's finally the critical darling he (http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-2/drakengard) always (http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/nier) deserved (http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/drakengard-3) 2b (http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/nier-automata).

it blows my mind people will buy a console for one game

that's upwards of $300 for something you might only use a handful of hours and never pick up again

I'll admit I bought a Wii U pretty much exclusively for Bayonetta 2, but the addition of some other games like Pikmin 3, S&SASRT, Xenoblade X, Devil's Third Splatoon and some Kecmo musuos made the purchase overall worthwhile (Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE as well had it not been butchered to shit). It's still a garbage console compared to its predecessors.

But yeah it does not make sense to buy a Switch at launch. No console has had a good launch since like the DC and PS2.

Honestly the really shitty thing about the whole thing with consoles at launch is that it kind of matters a lot on the investment side how well a console does when it's first released. Would investors (and in Nintendo's case, 3rd Party devs) be confident about investing in the Switch or some other new console if it doesn't have a lot of initial demand?

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go buy Mario Kart 8 at full price again.

What else would it depend on.

The fact it's not called Splat2n is reason enough for me to question buying it.

It's amazing how much more the recent console Zelba games, especially this one, seem like generic western mid fantasy than the N64 carts did. Putting VA in these games was a mistake.

Majora's Mask I think is the last game that really holds up exceedingly well. WW is just relatively shallow and TP was a total mess. Didn't even finish SS.
