What slack said, I appreciate sneakers but by purpose they're built for hard intensive work/exercise, wearing them as casual shoes and not for exercising, in addition to doing everything to keep them pretty; goes against their philosophy of use.

now boatshoes on the otherhand...

Saving up, orthopedic shoes are kind (not the clunky-clunks unless they're lightweight) for everyday use. It's cool on the feet too - slip and slide.

??????????????????????????????????????????

The vast majority of sneakers are worn as casual shoes.
Sneaker companies have been marketing them as casual shoes for 50 years.
Sneaker subculture is one of the most prominent in the world.

I like chucks myself but my personal favroite are the Puma Speeders.
(https://thebackalleys.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.unifitness.co.uk%2Fimages%2Fpuma-trainers-uk%2FAuthentic-Cheap-Puma-boots-Speeder-RP-Sneakers-Red-Beige-Blue-Outlet-P1337-WKSMV_2320.jpg&hash=eed055e7f65ae00996f7208a02b825a3eec85c59)
They don't really make them anymore, but I found a pair of whirlwinds that are basically the same after my speeders wore out.
