Yes, I know. This is old news, but I would like your opinions on Starbreeze Studios putting micro transactions into a game that you have to purchase to play. Plus all of the controversy going around.

I'm mainly bringing this up because I'm super pissed with what I got as a free gift. A little backstory; I bought the Completely Overkill Pack wich was $20 compared to the regular $10 DLC. It included a few extra things, but the main point being emphasized was gift for those who bought it. Turns out it's a fucking safe (TF2 crate) thats "exclusive" to COP owners and is the free gift.
Lol this isnt new
they inherently said that micro transactions wouldnt be available at the start but y'know if you have this many players I dont blame em
If they provide more playability and playtime I dont see why not.
Hats and skins may be disgusting to some, but to a lot of people they provide more playtime and whatnot. Imagine how many people would be playing TF2 and CSGO if they didnt have microtransactions? Marginally less.

That isn't what I'm really upset about. It's mainly the COP gift being a Safe. It's sorta like the developers sent you a message saying "Remember those promises we made about a awesome gift with the COP? Fuck that, we're giving you something worth 1 cent." with the message followed by a big middle finger directed at everyone.

@soup (http://www.thebackalleys.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=3048) can you do a word of the week for these?
evolve did it before and worse starbreeze are just copycats
Are you implying that you don't use adverbs to spice up your speech.
Nah, I
totally use adverbs, I just didn't understand those two in the context you were using them, which made me think one or both of us might be a bit rusty.
Also there aren't nearly enough puns in this thread.
Okay I've got one.
Ahem.
Looks like this is Overkill's...

I've owned this game for well over a year now but haven't gotten around to playing it yet because of reasons. In the meantime, I've been collecting a few pieces of DLC during Steam sales or other bundles, like the one wherein I picked up that crazy Irish girl with the accent up to which I could only dream of living.
So gun and mask DLC has been a thing since day one, I think. Would somebody like to explain why the ability to buy them from within the game is suddenly out of line?
