kind of like tf2 but characters are hero-types with abilities and an ultimate. 4 different types of classes: offensive, defensive, tank and support

i got into the beta today, if you want a chance to get in flag your bnet account in the beta section and make sure overwatch beta is checked. invites are sent out randomly every wave and they do one every 1-2 weeks

only tried a few matches so far so i don't have much to say about it yet. gameplay is pretty straightforward but so far there are 20 characters so there's a lot of abilities to learn. pretty much everyone has a weapon, alt fire, 2-3 abilities and an ult. the ult needs to be charged by ptfo. the ults usually work in tandem with the strength of the hero. for example the "engineer" of the game's ult is called Molten Core, and it makes his hammer (wrench) work a lot faster as well as his weapon and turret.

some are a little more unorthodox like D.Va who is a tank character. she starts in a mecha , and her ult allows her to abandon the mech, which self-destructs a few seconds latter for a fuckload of a damage. she has less health without it but has a more accurate weapon. after some time she can call down a new mech.

no but there are already skins available for pre-ordering so we can likely expect more in the future

tldr

• new game mode: KOTH. 1 control point per round, max of 3 rounds
  
• two new KOTH maps
  
• shitloads of unlocks, level progression system, "loot crate" drops
  
• ults work slightly differently
  
• tons of balance changes
  

the koth mode is fun but the points are very small and mostly full of chokes so if you have AoE and you get in there first with a healer you've probably got the round locked down. i've only played each map once though so maybe the meta will change. other than that the balance changes haven't affected the game all that much. still very fun, the progression system is nice. unlocks include skins, voices, taunts/animations, sprays and player icons.

I love that each KOTH map has 3 different areas and isn't the same place for every round


I don't know if they buffed Tracer but I am way better with her now. Also the changes they made to Bastion make him way better for offense than before

tracer didn't have any changes in the patch notes

i don't really like KOTH mode. the points are too tiny. every team is just pick splash damage and lob shit in the small room. but with some small tweaks i think it could be better.

still really wanna play this game but all i have is an imac from 2009 that i installed 16gb of ram in with the ATI graphics card that just barely meets overwatch's minimum requirements and a macbook pro that i can't install windows on :/
