Felt a little cheap making a thread specifically for the monkey film, but has anyone been to see Planet of the Apes yet, and if so, is it any good? Couple of friends told me they hated it, but they enjoy watching people hit eachother with lead bars
Why is it called Dawn of the Planet of the Apes? Didn't they already do Rise of the Planet of the Apes? Doesn't the sun rise at dawn? What the fuck is up with this analogy.
Also should I be excited to see Guardians of the Galaxy on Wednesday?

yesalso go imax or go home
How much of the movie was shot for an IMAX screen? Tickets cost like five dollars extra and I'm not really a fan of 3D but maybe you can convince me to convince my "friend(s)" to shell out.
This is my first Marvel movie since The Avengers so I hope it's better than that. James Gunn wrote Lollipop Chainsaw and Tromeo & Juliet so understandably my expectations are pretty high.
Also why is Lucy making so much money didn't I tell you guys not to see it?
I don't think any of the film was, because I know for the 3d versions it was just converted afterwards by Disney, but still the 3d version was still extremely impressive. Also I'm suggesting IMAX because the normal size theatre screen doesn't do the graphical fidelity any justice.
It says here (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2015381/technical?ref_=tt_dt_spec) that a few scenes display in 1.90. I'm just wondering how many you remember.
It's not like the movie was shot on 15 perf 70mm stock or anything so yeah my question didn't really make sense.
Well I saw Planet of the Apes, I thought it was pretty good.
3d has always hurt my eyes.. but i did saw guardians of the galaxy today and it was alright. on the other hand marvel movies have this cookie-cutter feel to them and they all have the same general plot line.
God Alien: Convent sucked but I wanna make out with Katherine Waterston.

Other highlight was James Franco dying in the first five minutes that was a riot.

alien covenant was so fuckin bad i wasnt even angry we were actually laughing when we went to see it. also pretty uncomfortable. not in the "damn this is creepy and unsettling!", like i was really cringing at the majority of the film. I have seen so many fucking awful films in my life, but i think like seeing awful film happen on the big screen was compounding the experience
GOD LOVIN' MAN TELLS THEM "LAND ON UNCHARTED PLANET". IT GOES WRONG. HE LOOKS AT CHARACTER. I WHISPER UNDER MY BREATH "we shouldnt have come here" HE FUCKING SAYS "we shouldnt have come here"
I LAUGH AAAAAAAA I DIDNT LIKE IT WHEN THE ROBOT TAUGHT THE OTHER ROBOT HOW TO PLAY THE WHISTLE but THAT WAS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG !!!!!!!!!!!!!

when the android was cuttin his hair i had a nightmarish thought that hed killed the lady from the first film and was using her body or something to replace his. considering how the events played out after that scene, i was both surprised and disappointed that i wasnt actually correct. i fucking hated this film
the perfect proportion tiny 6 inch alien that stood up out of the guys body made me fucking choke and we couldnt stop laughing in the cinema. other people in the cinema were laughing. it looked so fucking stupid like a bad photoshop job. then the android did the little air high five. i fucking hated this film
