We've already had a places you've been (http://www.thebackalleys.com/forum/general/places-you%27ve-been/) thread, how about one for places you want to go? They don't have to be realistic tourist destinations (pretty much none of mine are).
(https://thebackalleys.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thebackalleys.com%2Fdump%2Ffiles%2F1530%2F928D6m_Ball%25E2%2580%2599s_Pyramid.jpg&hash=917be6081cca91cb4fe905380302258d05330666)
Any uninhabited/uninhabitable island would be cool, especially one made entirely of rock. Pic is Ball's Pyramid in Australia, part of only 7% of the submerged continent of Zealandia that remains above water.
(https://thebackalleys.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thebackalleys.com%2Fdump%2Ffiles%2F1530%2F80gX1_Bishop_Rock.jpg&hash=8c5b20b9420c2d6c7f78530fea0cbd1abe45cb8b)
I have some strange fetish for phallic structures sticking out of the water. Probably due to playing Wind Waker at an impressionable age/somewhat repressed androphilia. Pic is Bishop Rock in Scilly, Great Britain.
(https://thebackalleys.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thebackalleys.com%2Fdump%2Ffiles%2F1530%2F3209Nc_Bouvet.jpg&hash=ab06d6206b4463e6d1b0ea1aa84033987d62707c)
Bouvet Island is the most isolated place on Earth. I would love to go there and get away from all the stupid ugly people in my face. It's owned by Norway, where I would also like to go so I can look a fjords/say hi to Holsterbau.
(https://thebackalleys.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thebackalleys.com%2Fdump%2Ffiles%2F1530%2F0026dL_Grytviken.jpg&hash=4130f6eb7b1a2118c31f721725997d108e333a83)
Any shipwreck/ship graveyard would be cool to see. Pick is Grytviken, in South Georgia. Shackleton is buried there.
(https://thebackalleys.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thebackalleys.com%2Fdump%2Ffiles%2F1530%2F641Hj_Hashima.jpg&hash=4ce57cfdae9c94405c777e7aeae636ca6aa31112)
What list would be complete without a weeb pick? I'd really like to go to an abandoned city/abandoned island/island in Japan/ruin in Japan/one of the 505 abandoned islands in Nagasaki Prefecture, so Hashima sums up my desires pretty well.
I just realized all of mine are uninhabited islands, probably because I'm hardcore/gay and boring. Your turn!
My picks are:
Svalbard

and maybe chile

I knew it was only a matter of time.
lots of places in japan, specifically akihabara and the ghibli museum, and anywhere my friends would recommend who lived there
south korea, probably seoul
hong kong
i'd like to see the northern lights, there's a lot of places to see those but i'd probably go to alaska for that
maybe somewhere with lots of larger than life nature reference like new zealand or norway
and i'd like to go to space sometime in my life, realistically the best i could probably hope for is to reach low earth orbit at best but if i could visit another planet that'd be awesome
An aurora would be really neat. There are a lot of meteorological/optical phenomena I'd like to see before I die. None of them are likely to happen, though: Lunar rainbow (https://www.google.com/search?q=moonbow&biw=1088&bih=502&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=Fwh2U7KWC4iRyAT_tYKIAQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ), Sun halo (https://www.google.com/search?q=sun+halo&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=fgN2U6WXF86syASa74KgCQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Sun pillar (https://www.google.com/search?q=sun+halo&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=fgN2U6WXF86syASa74KgCQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502#q=sun+pillar&tbm=isch), Mock sun (https://www.google.com/search?q=phantom+sun&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=PQt2U5HdH5SmyAS34IH4Dw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Green ray (https://www.google.com/search?q=green+flash&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=xQN2U6u9F5K0yAS83YIQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Circumhorizontal arc (https://www.google.com/search?q=fire+rainbow&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=bAh2U821KYmjyASR9oG4Aw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Fata Morgana (https://www.google.com/search?q=fata+morgana&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=-QN2U6_9NYaxyATzi4CoAw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Venus belt (https://www.google.com/search?q=belt+of+venus&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=-wZ2U5jgAYyeyASdkYHgBw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Noctilucent clouds (https://www.google.com/search?q=noctilucent+clouds&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=MwR2U5X2O5SxyATi6ID4Cg&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Nacreous clouds (https://www.google.com/search?q=polar+stratospheric+clouds&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=fgd2U9O-H8uTyATapIH4Bg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Arcus clouds (https://www.google.com/search?q=roll+cloud&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=gQV2U6ziHImRyATRsIKQDA&sqi=2&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Mammatus clouds (https://www.google.com/search?q=breast+clouds&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=Pwd2U9PcFsibyATo5IDwDA&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Asperatus clouds (https://www.google.com/search?q=asperatus+clouds&biw=1088&bih=502&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=OAZ2U6OQG4ulyASfuYCYDA&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ), Lenticular clouds (https://www.google.com/search?q=lenticular+clouds&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=ewR2U9ngEM2pyATpi4LgDA&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Cirrus Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds (https://www.google.com/search?q=cirrus+kelvin-helmholtz+clouds&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=pgR2U828AcObyAT_toGABw&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Fallstreak (https://www.google.com/search?q=punch+cloud&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=zwd2U4erBY-MyASRu4GgBw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Virga (https://www.google.com/search?q=virga&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=1AR2U7PWCYyqyASz6IDACg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Supercell (https://www.google.com/search?q=supercell&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=7AR2U7yzGcWmyATgp4K4BQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502), Waterspout (https://www.google.com/search?q=waterspout&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=AAV2U8TvPNKbyASu74E4&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1088&bih=502). I don't think I'd ever want to experience nonaqueous rain though, if it does in fact exist. I love clouds. I've considered going into meteorology just because I love them so much.
I forgot to mention this in OP, but I'd really like to go here more than any of those places, which aren't realistic anyway.

The salt flats in Bolivia. Screw uninhabited islands.
still a lot of places i want to visit in japan even though i've been to akihabara/ghibli museum. namely kyoto, osaka and okinawa.
otherwise, rural china/japan/asia in general, zhangjiajie national forest, and probably seoul. to be honest there's not a lot of places that i think aren't beautiful enough to warrant visiting, especially in europe, but if i were to list all of them it would get very cluttered fast and i've been interested in asia specifically forever anyway.
but seeing the alaskan lights would be pretty amazing too.
Wherever Bam is.
