yeah Ghost Stories actually has a uh... "correct" dub as well. Not sure why anyone would want to watch it when that version exists though

guin saga is one of my favorite english dubs. quality acting for a quality anime.

iirc ADV Films did the off-script comedy dub and it is a genuine dub that was commercially released. then later on another company did an 'official' dub with the original script

ADV rewrote the Ghost Stories script, but I'm pretty sure most of the dialogue was ad libbed. Pierrot told the studio to do "Whatever will make the show sell." The story stayed pretty much intact though, unlike say Samurai Pizza Cats (which was completely rewritten without access to the original script). It's worth watching the original and the ADV dub side by side, but mostly the latter. There were a lot of funny bits that didn't make the compilation in OP.

I haven't watched the Guin Saga English dub in entirety, but the voice acting was pretty straight in the first few episodes. I heard they just said "fuck it" halfway through and what you see is the result.

I'm pretty sure bd648 actually posted this and the one on the front page a while back, but they weren't talked about because it was in one of those compilation threads where everyone posts but nobody reads/discusses.

(His dub of My Neighbor Totoro is still probably my favorite ever, and I don't consider myself prone to nostalgia. I think Lisa Michelson and Cheryl Chase gave Satsuki and Mei an emotional depth the fucking Fanning sisters could never hope to capture.)
