is anyone else surprised how far they've gotten, every time i think they've reached the end i check the status the day afterwards to find them yet again further into the game
I don't think they would have made it past several places without Democracy mode, Safari Zone especially. But that said, the funny thing is, the more "stuck" they get, the more people lose interest, the less people in the chat, the easier it is to coordinate. If it got boring to the point where all but 50 people were left on the stream, they'd beat whatever obstacle they were stuck on and people would come flooding back.
i will always always always insist that the only part in the game they needed democracy mode was safari zone, that's done with and it'll likely not get used again until "the ledge", which i believe after enough time, anarchy will surmount

They used agility-Zapdos, which is pretty much what all speed runners use too: Zapdos in Gen 1 is probably one of the best pokemon, boasting high special and speed, STAB thunderbolt, and STAB drill peck off a base 90 (iirc) attack, which decimates all the notable grass types (ie. Exeggutor)
Zapdos makes the elite four a joke with it's stats and 20%ish crit rate too (critical hit rate is based off speed in Gen 1). Not surprised they beat the game so quickly with it.
