so 2 years after i originally asked rizon if they supported something called "lightirc", which would allow me to build a most customized web chat for #thebackalleys channel, rizon finally supports it.
this will allow me to build a chat client like mibbit, but without an ad, and possibly more customization features. i'm not sure about some things like the youtube embedding and whatnot, but i think the most important thing is that the ad would go away.
you can see a bare bones screenshot of what lightIRC looks like and all the customization it offers here (http://redmine.lightirc.com/projects/lightirc/wiki/Customization_parameters).
but i dont' want to bother building it if you guys don't care. but i want to ask because stats show that ~40% of irc users are using mibbit at any given time.
I literally just switched to using mIRC two days ago.
the more people using clients the better, but i know some people don't want to bother setting it up.
webcam support for irc?

i think it will only work if other people are using lightirc, because it uses flash

i think what i'll do is make a lightIRC page on the side, and you guys can try it and see what you think of it. i'm not gonna give an ETA, but i don't think i can start working on it until next month.
