I saw The Grandmaster over a month ago so I'm not sure it's still playing anywhere but if it is you should definitely see it! By far the prettiest movie of the year because Wong Kar-wai. I was literally having an orgasm for the last 20 or so minutes.
Gravity I had serious problems with but I'll wait to hear what you think before going off on it because that's polite!
i would like to see gravity, but the chances of me actually getting off my ass to a movie theater to see it are low, considering how many movies i wanted to see and never ended up seeing this year. i'm really bad at that.
though the trailer , which is basically two minutes of sandra bullock hyperventilating, annoyed the shit out of me. i'm only interested because of its premise and the hope of it actually being a thriller.
The trailer is a pretty accurate depiction the entire movie to be honest. If you go, definitely pay the extra 5 bucks to see it in IMAX because the sound design is absolutely gorgeous.
I really liked Alfonso Cuaron's other movies but I was pretty disappointed with this one, especially with all the acclaim it's been getting. Will review later!
I never really go to the movies though, but I really did want to see The Grandmaster.
Maybe I'll check out the DVD when that happens at least
