Some of you people may have heard of Cyberen, who is an animator who used to post on Newgrounds. He's a very talented Flash artist who has made several notable quality Flash animations, and the Flash I'm showing you is one of his best. It's entitled "Cyberen in: The Finale" which was submitted in 2010.
Featuring Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now," the movie is about an old Flash group called the Barney Bunch that used to be well known on Newgrounds. Cyberen spent at least one year on this, and it was front paged on Newgrounds by Tom and received a Daily Feature award.

Why? Cyberen/Brock is a good guy and he doesn't deserve the flak he gets from that one guy (Lauch or Launch?) as well as other individuals who, for some reason, have something against him. He is currently working on some Flash projects so me posting this thread was somewhat relevant.

Watch his parts "Finds the Rainbow" as well as other parts by Cyberen himself :)

I mean it was an excellent Flash movie, but I just don't see the relevance between that and Cyberen. I mean, maybe there was, and I'm sorry if I missed that. Great Flash though, nonetheless.
ive never heard of the cyberen guy, it just reminded me of all those flash cartoons from back in the day that had countless cameos from whatever flash crews

That was that Lauch fellow. He used to post here on TBA along with Retrosmash. As far as I know, Adam-Ant, who was a former TBA member and user, also participated in some of the Cyberen Sillies works.
You probably watched them and thought they were crap. I can also say that they were crap, too. Just loops of a random picture dancing. Sure it may be funny the first few times but after 20, 30, or even 200 times, it just gets old, repetitive, and it is a waste of time.
i know adamant from the milanocrew, i dont recall if he was a member of that or the ss first because i never asked but he is a cool guy

Yep, he's a pretty cool dude. He did post on here a lot but he was last active in 2010 and probably got sick of this site. He made a lot of movies for the DailyToons series on NG.
I'mma make an entire thread about StagBeetle
After reading the first post, I lost complete interest in checking it out.

okay fine i shouldn't have made this thread. this wasn't the right way of displaying it on these boards.
however, even though NG has gone through a downward spiral at least acknowledge the fact that if Newgrounds never existed, TBA would probably never exist. I'm sure almost all of the people on here are here because they watched Rtil's Flash movies from Newgrounds and found this website on the links on his Flash. It's also one of the original online Flash animation portals and it's a great place to post Flash and art and get feedback. sure it has some shitty users but that's everywhere on the Internet..
an unrelated question: how important are/were the Flash programs for the animation industry? i heard they got a lot of use in western cartoon series and short films, but besides that and maybe a few indie games, has there been a lot of use for Flash in professional work? (i'm aware of its usefulness for mobile devices and web design)
also, if not, what programs do people generally use for professional 2D animation?

you'll find flash in just about every mobile/web/startup game studio in this country. every studio i've been to or worked at uses flash in some capacity. in the animation world, flash is used pretty often. motorcity was made almost entirely in flash, as are many other cartoons. never exclusively, but used extensively.
i think that is slowly starting to change, but the market saturation that flash has can't be beat when it comes to the web world.
motorcity looks amazing

I WAS ABOUT TO START A THREAD
ABOUT HOW MUCH I HATE THAT SHOW

but yeah, Flash is still pretty common, and Toonboom use is increasing really fast too

i see. it's just that i have an animation teacher who basically dismissed flash as "cellphone stuff". i didn't quite believe him (he only talks about acetate and toonboom) so i went to ask you guys.
as for johnny test, sheepy, now that you mentioned it it does look like it was made in flash. fuck that show though, horrible show, hnnngfhgghghk.
a lot of the animation in amazing world of gumball and foster's home for imaginary friends seemed to me like it was done in flash. maybe adventure time too? what i'm trying to get at is that maybe flash usage left a kind of visual imprint... or maybe the big studios just decided on a certain aesthetic to their shows that was easier to pull off with that program.

i did a little search and it does seem like toonboom is getting more use. i'm not aware of toonboom's interface at all though (CAN IT TWEEN???) so i don't know what to make of this
It should be illegal to tween
ESPECIALLY AT 0% FUCKING EASE

gumball probably does what a lot of other shows (foster's home, mlp:fim) do - they make the assets in illustrator and port them over to flash for animation. it sounds like an absolute nightmare , but i get why they do it.

im kind of sick of seeing tweened animated stuff now, where the jokes rely on excessive expressions, tasteless humor and violent camera pan
plus all the people that are not really inspired to animate, just emulate the success of others

i dunno i figure ill get in some practice with frame by frame first before i try any more tweening stuff

um yea dude, toonboom is the cartoon netowkr studios (burbank) main tool, they use cintiq wacom tablets, ever since about flapjack and chowder til regular show and uncle grandpa of today;; ive researched somewhat extensivly and tried meeting alot of the animators in burbank and theyre all pointing to toonboom, flash is like yesterdays news \and yea bro you can tween in toonbom, but why would ya?)

Quote
the egorapture
that's a pretty fitting name for it. i also think the rage comics/faces memes really don't help.
i mean it's one thing if you're doing it for an appropriate gag. spongebob and ren & stimpy are good examples of going off model at the right time. but when that is the running gag every single time all the time, it's not funny anymore. i also hate the constant yelling and screaming. i guess if i was 12 i'd think it was funny. that's probably their target demographic anyway.
Egorapture (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/589721)
nothing is original
me included
it's ok, i didn't watch it. i will pretend you came up with the name instead
:D
It's a cartoon by spazkid about spazkid complaining that everybody compares his cartoons with egoraptors feat. the voice of egoraptor, you can know that much about it and try to imagine what it's like and probably get a pretty accurate impression
and that's why i didn't watch it
so you didn't watch it because you knew what it was?
i didn't watch it because of the authors involved
understandable
get your noses out of your ass ya snobs
