that case is amazing as are cooler master in general. they are mid-towers but damn they are huge, which is actually quite nice because there's lots of breathing room while building
Yeah, there's tons of room in the case, i just cant wait to put all the parts in it
Nice machine you have there. I especially like that fan, looks like it belongs in a starship or some shit like that.
yeah cpu coolers look really neat
that's the cooler i use on my cpu, it's enormous - but it's extremely quiet. keeps temps about 30C lower than intel's pos stock cooler

A nice clean new computer. Reminds me I need to do some cleaning.
oh hey, i have the same case, motherboard, CPU and 2 of those RAM sticks (+ 2 more 2GB RAM sticks). Your videocard on the other hand is way better than mine lmao.
still sounds like you've got a solid rig

Oh, yeah. I have a 560 Ti and my PSU is the 700GS; I can still play almost any game on the highest settings with a steady 60+ FPS. So you'll be able to enjoy your PC for quite a while!
eggscellent
this will be me in a few days because i just ordered some new parts as well, only it will likely take me twice as long as you because i am slow and a scrub
what is computer
:'D It's beautiful! Are the lights in it part of the fan or are you going to add them?
all the case fans have blue led's, the psu has 4 settings, red, white, blue or no led, cpu cooler has blue led
Nice heat sink,a couple tie straps would be good to manage those wires.
i just put it together quickly for the sake of the images, i routed all the wires much better since then

The only annoying thing about those LED's for me is that you can't turn them off. I leave my PC on over night, pretty much always, and it forces me to cover up my case by leaning a book against it so it won't light up my entire freaking room.
the northern lights has made me immune to such trivialities
it also helps that i just close my eyes when i sleep
you paranoid son of a bitch
i can turn off all the led's except the one on the cooler

i have 7.3 for my transfer rate but it might be because win8 uses different parameters from win7 if i'm not entirely mistaken
my processor is 7.5 but it's an older i5 which was overclocked
the rest gets the same score
so ya yours is ever so slightly faster than mine if that makes you feel good
if yours was better i'd still feel great about it, it's a solid rig
ya
not fond of amd processors personally, though
but idk if it matters IN THESE MODERN AGES since it's been years since i used one
i mean overclocking my processor now was just a matter of changing a couple settings in the bios
my cousin still fondly remembers sitting under his bedsheets during the coldest of winter nights with his open case exposed to the freezing subzero climate and setting a world record in overclocking some old school processor, though by now it eludes me what model or brand it was
he was pretty proud of beating the fags with watercoolers and more fancy shit
today still intel>amd but if you're going for bargain bin amd can still play with the big boys, but they haven't been able to compete with the i7's processing power at all
ya
at least previously they were 'even'
but amd was generelly not as good if you weren't a techfag who knew how to tinker with shit
you COULD get more bang for the buck but only if you put in the extra effort
even then, i7's can be overclocked quite high if you have a good cooler. my old i7 was a 2.6 and i oc'd it to 4.0 with no issues. i have a 3.5 now, bet i could get it to 5 but i haven't tried yet
when I built a computer last summer, I opted to go with AMD because intel is starting to put DRM right on their hardware
http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20110107/10153912573/intel-claims-drmd-chip-is-not-drm-its-just-copy-protection.shtml (http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20110107/10153912573/intel-claims-drmd-chip-is-not-drm-its-just-copy-protection.shtml)
What could possibly go wrong here?
i don't really see how that's drm. it's hardware authenticity used to verify a third party streaming service. at the most it is a somewhat dubious form of marketing. but the technology isn't even used, and doesn't affect the performance of the processor in any way. i don't see the problem here.
From unrelated conversations I had last year with a friend who works at an IT company and someone from the Pirate Party at PAX east last year, I heard that the way the DRM would work was that only programs/files on a white list (from Intel) would be processed by the intel chip
The concerning part is that the technology and code are built into the hardware right now-- granted, it's not used, but it exists, and it's only really a matter of time before someone figures out how to manipulate it (because when have hackers NOT broken into something?)
[/tinfoilhat]
i guess i'm just apathetic about it because i know it won't affect me no matter what happens
like the MPAA is never going to be able to stop me from pirating movies in 1080p with DRM in a chip
No, but if that whitelist thing is true then that's a terrifying feature for a hacker to gain control of
I will admit that I am a bit paranoid about this sort of stuff though!
i'm sure when and if they do it will be very amusing to say the least
