I've probably spent 200+ hours across all three Sims games just building and decorating houses. The game is wish fulfillment, no doubt, but not everyone wishes to see digital versions of people they might know tortured >>;

I play the sims 2 get layed

when I was in middle school where I played a lot of Sims 2, I made a lot of young married gay couples who would have silky hair, eyeliner, and the first few simdays of playing them I always made sure they worked out so they'd have hot bods. I was very proud of this fact, while being extra careful not to have anyone catching me giggling at two shirtless yaoi twinks making out in their underwear on my computer screen. The Night Life expansion added a lot of great romance interactions. Going through my initial questioning phrase, the Sims 2 was a good outlet for me since there was no limit to what two sims could do just because of their gender.

Well, it is a game. But it's a game with more emphasis on liberty and choice, rather than having to abide by certain rules. The sim in the screenshots you see me playing with doesn't even have a real job and has lived off his own labor by self-sufficiently growing his own food, fishing in ponds, and doing oddjobs around town. He doesn't make a lot of income, but he goes through a lot of fun adventures and it's a nice enough challenge too!

Engines provide a great deal of heat sinks, and I do have a few doubles installed, but I couldn't afford the engine i wanted quite yet and the stock one was too heavy and slow - without the engine, the amount of actual heat sinks drops, and so does the heat efficiency. That being said, the actual aiming is a lot more responsive compared to closed, so when I do get my engine I will hopefully be able to match the destructive potential I had back then. I really do like the ERPPC Awesome even though most people think the PPC sucks due to damage spread and high heat generation, but the double heat sink upgrade and large engine should keep me running cool, while the high speed should keep me out of harms way as far as more brawler-oriented assaults are concerned.

I also stripped off the support weapons because I couldn't track anything up close anyway with the sluggish turn rate.

the image itself is 253x253 (or around there I don't remember) so I added a sheet of the same size (also the default size) and it fit perfectly. Didn't have to fight with the texture all that much. This was just me trying out custom textures for the first time.

there are a few unfinished maps I have that I want to continue, but no one really plays this game anymore so it would probably be a bit more unproductive. Maybe one of these days I'll look into the Unreal Development Kit and play around with that. With that said, does anyone play UT3? I only played that once and I don't know if it had a really loyal playerbase or is already forgotten.

but yeah I only just learned that you can easily upload .bmp's into unreal ed directly so I did the mature thing and googled for images of cute anime girls to see if I could put them up on walls like posters as a test and here we are.

UT2004 still has players but they're mostly angry krauts in my experience... UT3 had players when it was free on steam and there's probably still a community but frankly the whole thing is far weaker than UT2004.

Checking my steam games, yeah, I have both UT2004 and UT3 installed.

The only servers with people that play custom maps in UT2004 are Onslaught servers. Everyone in DM really only just play DM-Rankin which was the demo level for the game which also makes me wonder why these people even bothered to buy the game in the first place.

no, i wasn't there

the battle was happening in northern low-sec, while me and my alliance were roaming southern null-sec

our initial plan was to head north and cut off any stragglers or late-comers and feed off the whole thing like vultures

however we ended up getting in a fight of our own with a numerically superior fleet that was heading north to reinforce their allies

although we shattered the hostile fleet and forced them to retreat (ie they left their buddies to die), we sustained heavy losses to our support vessels

without sufficient logistics ships, several electronic warfare ships down and my own DPS-battlecruiser blown to pieces, the remainder of the fleet chose to loot what they could and stand down for the night

it was still a much more fun battle than anything happening up north though, as we got a nice and clean lag-free engagement with 'good fights' from everyone in local

more than can be said for the fuckfest the goons initiated with heavy macro spam in their local channel LOL

So I played the SimCity Beta over the weekend. Idk when the NDA expires but since the Beta's over I thought I'd share. I played the 1-hour beta three times, getting progressively better.

So for my last city I just went with the time saving grid. What's neat is that nearly everything you place down can be upgraded, including the City Hall, which I hadn't planned for in the layout

Certain expansions, like say extra garages for your firetrucks, can even be across the street on separate lots.

I placed my PD in the commercial district next to the gambling den, and the FD in the industrial district. They can respond to anything on the whole map, but the less squad cars/firetrucks you have the more strained they'll be to patrol the area, or even put out fires/stop crime if they're overwhelmed. And of course, if they're really far away they could get stuck in traffic

Something that was really interesting that I didn't get to explore much is the concept of specializing your cities. You could make a mining town, a high-tech industry town, commerce town etc. but the only thing in the beta was making it a gambling town. It took forever for my gambling den to turn a profit and I can't imagine anyone unlocking the upgraded Casino within an hour of play

you can build houses on those underwater streets, too. it's pretty funny

I started a rom hack of Earthbound sometime last year and just recently looked back into it. Made a few edits and might go back to work with it.

Yeah, I recently downloaded some really nice mods for it.  Honestly playing elite with the synergy mod is near impossible but it adds so much more gameplay.  It makes the game so much harder.  Really fun.
