I've just coded a NSFW tag for posts with some basic functionality. you can see when you make a new reply or topic, underneath the subject and message icon is a drop-down menu that says "NSFW?" with No or Yes.
here's what it does so far:
- if you mark your own topic (first post) as NSFW , a red [NSFW][/color] tag appears before the topic title in the topic list.
- if a topic is marked NSFW, it is hidden from guests. only registered, logged-in users can see the topic.
here's what i plan to implement/is not finished yet:
- hide the topic from the recent posts
- add the tag or hide the topic from guests if it's the most recently replied to topic in the board index
- create a NSFW bbcode tag for posts that have NSFW content in non-NSFW threads
if you have any suggestions or questions about the feature, please post it here.
this is not meant to deter you from posting NSFW content, instead now you can post NSFW topics without having to worry about people not knowing if it isn't already obvious.
until the NSFW bbcode tag is made, please try to only post NSFW stuff in NSFW topics.

I think we did... it always spoiled the surprise of posting something terrible when you had to tag the thread anyway...
i think we should tag SFW topics with rainbow-colored letters and small baby icons to make them more avoidable

yes, but when i moved the forum to new software it couldn't be brought over so it had to be re-coded. i just didn't get to it until now.
but i'll be able to make it work better in smf because the code is open source and easier to modify. it only took me a few hours here what took me days on ipb.
guests now see this when they try to view a nsfw topic:
