Sadly the game doesn't support in-game messaging yet since it's only a beta, but you can still join your friends' games. As of now there are no custom servers yet, either. Perhaps we could set up an official TBA server when the game is released?

Got into the beta last week, even though I didn't register hah. Probably because I played Global Agenda, which is by the same company.
Anyways I can confirm that it's a lot of fun, kind of reminds me of unreal tournament, but not that much I guess... it's pretty unique. My ingame name is cipherr if I'm not mistaken, but chances are I won't really be on much anyways, too busy
It uses the Unreal Tournament 3 engine, so yeah it has a few similarities, though Tribes is by far a better game.

my internet didn't crap out, the client kept going irresponsive after a while. Restarting it fixed it though and I played a few games; fucking awesome game i must say. Soldier ftw.
yeah soldier is a nice bread and butter class though the pistol kind of sucks so the ranger is overall more well rounded since both the assault rifle and grenade launcher are decently effective
medium armor is generally the best
you can't delete people from your friendlist AHH
e. i prefer the soldier cause the pistol is actually stronger than the assault rifle + it's by far easier to hit things with it. (It's stronger if you aren't miles away, that is)
also with the soldier, you can use your main weapon to shoot on to the ground where your enemy is going to be in a few seconds. For the other class, that's not really the case because the projectile of the secondary weapon explodes mid-air.

while i've never played any of the original tribes games, i can safely say i'm pretty psyched for this. it's currently being made by Hi-Rez studios, makers of the f2p mmo global agenda. really fast-paced, freedom of movement, huge variety of weapons, oh, and did i mention it's free to play?
so yeah. it's currently in open beta, and is expected to be released sometime this year. anyone else playing this/heard about it?
