i don't party.
they're not fun because i don't drink, smoke or do drugs and i don't usually like the music people play there so i don't dance either. plus i have a girlfriend so i can't go to "pick up chicks", but my girlfriend lives far away so i can't really go to a party with her either.
i would go to more parties if they played more music that i actually liked to dance to.
i do like to hang out with people in fairly large groups (like 6-10, maybe a little more or less), but i've heard people get mad at me for referring to that kind of a scenario as a "party". they say the more correct term is a "kickback". of course, i think all of these terms imply drinking or drug use, so if that's the case i do neither.
however, i do enjoy having record listening parties!

yeah i don't really think that this is that crazy or strange of a position to have. i don't particularly like either of those things, since where i am, most parties consist solely of those two things (plus sex), it becomes easier to say "i don't party" so that i don't get invited to that kind of stuff.
you are aware that the phrase "you must be a blast at parties" is just a metaphor and not a literal statement that anyone intended for you to reply to in a serious manner

yeah this, though at this point it's more like a habit than anything else. it sucks because i realize not everyone really cares at all what i think about stuff but it's just second nature for me to talk about how i feel about things. i'm trying to cut back on it, it's just hard, especially when i don't even realize i'm doing it until like halfway into some rant or something. i do realize that your original post was supposed to be humorous
