beat it last night, wasn't that bad
thoughts?
I generally don't like the CoD franchise, and MW2 is the only one I own. While I hated the multiplayer beyond belief, the campaigns were really sick. I heard they were for MW1 too. If I get the chance I may rent it or something and then just play the campaigns once through and then return it.
I don't know though, I've got 3 games coming next week so we'll see hah.
Furthermore, I hate when people rant about why a game sucks or whatever if they've never/barely played it, so if I'm going to hate on CoD, might as well at least try it.
Also I don't want to give activision my money [for something like this], so renting is a good option. Hopefully redbox will have it, since there's been an add for it on the one near my apartment for a while.
No sir, and I'll probably never play it.

Put in the time and effort (with a generous dash of natural talent) and YOU TOO can slaughter the n00bskis this hard
is its campaign very short, or did they improve on that and make it longer

i clocked 5:06 on hardened
but more importantly a lot of the set pieces are about as fresh as moldy bread so if you're a series veteran it will
feel longer

to me it literally looks like the exact same as modern warfare 2. incredibly boring
its pretty great if you dont think about it

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand hey this is exactly what activision has been relying on for the past 4 years
the joke???
if they had just changed the hud activision wouldn't be taking half as much flak for recycling content
except the fact this is their 7th game on the same engine
but the backlash over the 5th and 6th was basically nothing
they just got lazy with the hud/menus and made it really obvious
ultimately it had little to no effect on sales though
the backlash comes from people who were dumb enough to buy it all the while knowing it was pretty much the same game
obviously it doesn't bother enough people as it sells like hotcakes but it's the king of casual shooters, everyone should know this by now
i've never bought a CoD game so i've spared myself the trouble

cod4 is actually worth it because it has what mw2&3 dont: a really good single player campaign and arguably some of the best climaxes/special missions ever
Call of Duty 4 Epilogue - "Mile High Club" on Veteran (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbYXV0UivpM#)
that with the multiplayer's weapon system and its perks werent terrifically unbalanced (dual 1887s)

i disagree, for the most part i've seen the flak coming from loyalists of battlefield, tf2 or other games. at this point cod fans mostly know what they're getting into and just want more of the same.

you do see a lot of that, but if you don't think there aren't a lot of people who bought the game and still complain you're kidding yourself

the thing is though is that i don't buy a game for $60 so i can play a good campaign that lasts 8 hours. that's not worth my money. so when i buy a fps, i buy it with the intention of playing hours and hours of solid multiplayer.
cod multiplayer is retarded. killstreak rewards, horrible balance, spawncamping galore, lack of variety. battlefield has and always will trump cod in multiplayer
everyone knows COUNTER-STRIKE 1.6 is the real man's online shooter

despite all of this, it's still damn good fun. and i think battlefield is well known for having its share of these issues, and even some worse ones. in particular i think vehicle camping is awful. why waste your own time? then there's ejectors, all the teamplay-oriented weapons and gear nobody uses, etc. etc...

The thing is though you're going to find this kind of issue in all kinds of games. Camping vehicles or spawns, just going around trying to get the most points and ignoring the actual objective, etc. I think that problem lies much more in the game playing community than in the game(s) itself. There's only so much the devs can do to get rid of these things
that's my point. i know both series are flawed, but cod provides fast-paced, involving and accessible action without most of the aggravation and tedium that arises from bf's scale, and for that i prefer it, even though i lost interest in the multiplayer aspect a while back. but if you enjoy bf, so be it, just acknowledge that it has problems as well.
never said bf was perfect - i said it was a superior multiplayer experience. it's impossible to even compare the two though because cod is so linear in its gameplay.

at least cod's sniper rifles fucking hit something
if you can't snipe in battlefield you just suck at sniping
im pretty sure rounds travel faster than a golf ball irl
what you're experiencing is called latency, a common problem in online multiplayer
and thats why varying bullet speeds dont work very well for snipers because its hard enough nailing a headshot on someone who has 200 ping
then just play on consoles hur hur. No but in all seriousness, I kind of see your point about the sniping thing. Although for whatever reason I feel like the system they had in BC2 worked a lot better when it came to sniping and bullet drop, etc.
