oh hey, thats the date of my birfday
put i didnt read your post but im assuming it's really unhelpful and rude
oh whoops nevermind sorry
i guess i made an ASS out of U and ME
i think it is ugly im sorry :<
edit: ok i decided to make a constructive post out of this, because i didnt want to be a rude meanie. basically, the linework just looks very sloppy, and the perspective is totally fucked. the daytime colors used on the taxi and the road also look very out of place for a night pic. in general, it just looks very half-assed. i've seen you make better art than this
It feels like the road and taxi at the bottom distracts from the text, and leads away from the title. I'm not sure why that part is there other than to fill up space.
Is that what it really feels like?
I think it probably looks better in print form. In this huge version on the screen we can see all the digital flaws, but since you've always had a nice expressionist style in your paintings I figure that was the mindset you were going for in this but people are much more harsh to a bunch of heavy digital strokes then compared to heavy paint strokes so it comes off too messy and perhaps not as a solid grasp of a digital program yet. But I like the concept and the way it was presented, in fact I kinda wish the lights in the building with the words ILL were better illuminated so they pop out more because I like that idea of the buildings having spelled out a word in the landscape and in a way this piece reminds me of like early 60s graffiti art from NY when it was raw and kind of crude but understandable and stylized. Idk I think it's a nice poster that could have been even nicer (if it had been done in a traditional medium and the title words were bolder) but it still has a good S-shape moment that follows through the whole piece and the key info is clear and easy to read like the location and time and date.

dont be sorry for having an opinion geez!
yeah this isnt the best thing ive ever made and given a little more time i would probably clean it up a lot, but that's no excuse. there's a lot of laziness in this thing, and that probably could've been avoided
i do stand by the colors though. makes it a little more interesting than if it were just nighttime blues and purples.

it's to imply a story. that taxi/whoever's in it has an adventure on the horizon

1)yeah im banking on this not looking as bad in print. if they decide to print it. fingers crossed!
2) my expressionism doesn't seem to translate well to digital stuff, unfortunately. photoshop is still new to me, so hopefully i can eventually make my way of painting work with it
3) haha i got the same crit from a couple people here about the lighting. i didnt really know how to make it pop anymore without compromising the style
4) honestly i wish i could've done this traditionally and still made the deadline/requirements they set because it would be so rad
5) i want the hour i spent getting the typography right back
