i would actually recommend staying away from using black and white for shades. black and white are tones that wash out color, not enhance them. instead you should be thinking about warm and cool colors and how to pick them based on the light source. for example, a warm sun color would make the objects being hit with light warm, and the parts in shadow cool. there are warm and cool versions of every color. having an eye for it takes time, but in the long run i think it's worth learning
i cannot tell what any of these are at all! its not a bad thing though..
i have mixed feelings about your art. I like the variety of your figures/monsters/clock guys but im not sure if i like the way you shade things... its interesting enough that i want to keep looking at it but it does make me think "oh those shadows look weird" etc.

i've said this countless of times before and i'm not sure why nobody understands it;
i ENJOY drawing those things. I can actually get good results when drawing them which makes me happy and motivates me. Whenever i try to draw humans, i get frustrated as shit, demotivated and don't finish it anyways. I know that if i practiced drawing humans, i would probably be good at it within a few months but i don't want to be a serious artist or serious animator or something like that, so if i can be happy when drawing little things like that, why not do it.
That being said, i recently got myself a book about anatomy and i will post my attempts here as well.

yyeah i like a lot of the ones in the first post with the dynamic shading i think its really cool looking and you have a knack for that
but on the second post i feel you were trying to add some kind of texture but it just kinda ended up looking like weird scribbles over boring sillhouettes
try using different values and shading them darker like layers or some shit
anyway tbh i think you should stick to flash because it seems you have the vector thing kinda down except for the fact that theyre all locks

thanks a lot man, and yeah the photoshop drawings suck cause i never really use PS, i guess i'll get better at it eventually, i just want to use PS to paint backgrounds for my flashes anyways.
