so i been wondering for like different kind of gameplay styles that no one has tried yet.
one in particular mind was something like
spider-man + call of duty. i just like the thought of just crawling on walls and shooting ppl off the walls and such.
anyone else got any interesting ideas ?
I really liked Battlezone 2, cause it was an FPS and RTS mix. You could build your little city in both views and enter vehicles you built, go to your enemy's base and wrack havoc in first person or send large troops in bird view.
It's a really nice concept i haven't seen much.
Well, not that I've played it, but conceptually Brink had some cool stuff. Notably the parkour aspects, something that has yet to be seen in an FPS.
In all honesty, I feel like most rare/never used game genre mix ups will boil down to "FPS + X". While there are a lot of cool ideas out there, chances are they haven't be used for a reason

Nah, it was a simulator/RTS hybrid, primarily not FPS. Battlezone rocked though, it's possible to download it for free and play with some nerd cultists who still haven't given up after 13 years. Fine by me, it's a good game by all standards.
mario + sonic ????????????? what would even happen i dont knwo
someone needs to make a rhythm/puzzle game with lots of electronic music. this has never been done before. indie scene should get on it.

You can have side scrolling first person games, a lot of old arcade games with gun controllers and shit are sort of like that. They could TRY to make it an MMO but it would be a horrible, bankruptcy-inducing disaster.
Yeah now that I think of it, Metroid: Other M was sort of a side-scrolling fps.
Oddworld Strangers Wrath was cool and different. It was like part 3d platformer (exploring, quests, puzzles), fps (tactical guns and gameplay upgrades and hunting shooting enemies for money) , and Pokémon (you battle and collect little animals then use them as your ammo to attack larger animals/bad guys).
the SW port would be better if the controls weren't dogshit
