oh yeah by the way:
"A week after they leave New York around March 28, the pair hurtles into the 15th season of South Park, part of a new pact with Comedy Central that keeps the show on the air through 2013 and is said to be even richer than their previous $75 million deal. They'll have just one week to create each episode, with no time to prep."
wow a South Park thread Psi didnt create!
preview of this looks fucking stupid
ah well, hopefully the season will get better as it goes along, the first half of last season really wasn't too shabby
im not going to be super judgmental about this season like i have been for the last 4!! im just going to watch it and appreciate it for what it is!!!!!

Actually the quality of south park's animation has really come a long way if you compare it to the earlier stuff.
Give or take you can still think it sucks

Yeah I kind of agree there. If it was seriously animated it would just be weird

pop culture joke
south park is a more complex, and more well-rounded show than superjail - because its been on for much much longer and has had more time to flesh out all of the good bits and ditch the juvenile slapstick/potty humor. you can say its just pop culture jokes but its really a true modern satire.
my only concern is that after 15 seasons the characters lack any fresh synergy
i'm still gonna watch the whole season
actually i like what theyve done with kenny recently
what did they do to kenny recently
i wouldn't know i haven't watched it since bigger, longer and uncut

new episode was gross as fuck
i liked some parts of it but overall it was "okay", seemed more like a filler episode to me though.
new episode suck I fell asleep during the final commercial break. Cartman's mom was completely out of character and it didn't make sense. And the whole human centipede thing fell flat because all those joke already been made when movie came out.
The couldn't read thing was a little amusin but I fell asleep after the people came and broke them out and it turned out to be just a ruse.
Everything felt wrong about this episode voices and characters and everything. Shit was weird.
long story short

Yeah I thought it was just okay. I'd say the funniest part was maybe the last 10-15 seconds

I really don't know... I hope they do something more relevant next week.
episode was much better than last weeks IMHO
first half was pretty fucking great, second half was okay and the ending was cool as well.
all together, pretty nice episode.

co-signed altho the first episode was really boring and wack as fuck, i like some of the "agree with the terms and conditions" jokes but that was it
i am going to check the other ep later today and readin the comments i guess ill be in for a treat
i haven't seen the first episode yet but this new one was tolerable, albeit kinda bizarre and all over the place
Quote from: DrRumacki think cartman's mom finally getting fed up with his shit was sort of refreshing
I think that would have been fine if they had some kind of lead up to it. But right off the bat she was like "No fuck off Cartman". It was like she became a completely different character out of nowhere. It didn't make any sense! The episode was just altogether poorly written
Funnybot was much better

she hasn't really been like she was in season 1-4 since the tzz episode, where she learns to not treat her son like a friend.

What are you talking about? The very next season on the first episode it has Eric's mom coming downstairs with a toilet for Eric to shit in and going "Oh thats a big boy"
His mother has never EVER been like that before except in that episode and in the "tzz" episode but with the tzz wpisode there was a logical explaination. I loved that episode. It made NO sense in the human centipad one.

Liked the new episode, even though side-lining the main characters gives mixed results this was pretty funny.

Thats the point. Cartman wouldnt be the way he was if his mother didn't let him walk all over her. And out of nowhere she just changes with no explaination. They didnt even make her say anything like "Ive been fed up with your bullshit Eric blah blah blah." They just "Woah now shes pissed off at him when shes been fine with him for 15 seasons hey now"

these have been alright, much better than how last season started off
however (regarding the ipad episode), i do miss when SP used to make a parallel 'version' of whatever it was mocking. y'know like instead of pokemon, it was chin poko mon. things are just more entertaining that way
i guess they dont need to avoid lawsuits anymore so they dont bother with subtlety
it was better when they were forced to be more creative with the names. limits on what you can and can't do forces creativity. that's why ren and stimpy sucked when it turned into the "adult cartoon party" - he could do whatever the fuck he wanted, so instead of it being funny it was just gross.
in south park's case, the show is so popular they can do almost whatever they want. it's only when they can't do what they want (mohammed episodes) that they have to get creative and the show gets a lot of attention.

stunning observation psi
anyway i'm of the opposite opinion as lenko. i really enjoyed the first few episodes of the previous season, but the start of this one has been pretty damn lackluster with the exception of the most recent episode, which even then wasn't that spectacular. i obviously still dunno how this t.m.i. episode's gonna work out, but here's hopin for the best.
I feel when watching the new ones, it's pretty evident they're really fucking exhausted right from the start this year.
i love randy
the episodes of this season are getting better and better, the most recent one about the TMI was pretty fucking good and funny.
honestly didn't like this new episode very much, though i guess it had to do with missing the whole first act. gonna need to rewatch that one.

i actually really liked last night's episode
yeah I thought it was pretty good
i do like the episodes, well some of them at least but for some reason it doesn't feel like south park anymore, aside from the visuals
i don't know why
Im getting pretty worried about this season, i thought the episodes were going to get better after funnybot. I mean I thought that and the royal wedding one were pretty funny but now the episodes are getting alot worse. It doesnt remind me of south park at all.
im glad i stopped watching south park when my balls fucking dropped
which is to say before half of you were even BORN
New ep will be about butters getting a shitload of medicine.
"Butters is diagnosed with multiple personality disorder. The boys want to help Butters find out what's really happening to him but Butters may not like what they find."
Sounds decent enough.

Yeah, took them some time tho. Loved the twist btw. Didn't quite expect that.
haha yeah actually that was a hilarious episode. really came out of nowhere
Hilarious
amazing episode, i really liked it.
Good.
well, if this new episode didn't indicate that matt n trey intend to wrap the show up this year or very soon afterward, then i don't know what would
contract runs out this year, its totally possible
I really liked that episode, the abundance of shit jokes made it a little hard to watch at times, but I was really impressed by the ending.
and now we play the waiting game
New episode was good, but as ix said, the shit joke was a bit overused. If they'll finally stop with this season, i hope they'll make a feature to close things up.
where did you heard they gonna stop this year
well, if this is what they're ending on, i can live with that
i've heard many conflicting accounts of how they haven't actually signed the contract renewal yet vs. them renewing it already until 2013, so i dont really know which one is true at this point
there are no conflicting accounts. south park was renewed for 3 seasons in 2007, the 3rd being season 15. since then, south park has not been renewed for any further seasons.
they are contractually obligated to produce at least 7 more episodes. if the show isn't renewed over the summer then you can bet that part 2 of this season will be spent wrapping things up.
im guessing the rest of the season will be spent systematically screwing up every character's lives until they're all seeing shit
just a guess though
just a guess though
just a guess though
Well honestly they usually don't official announce renewal stuff until specific strange times of the year. Who knows, they may have already been renewed for another season or so. Or they're giving it as a personal decision to Matt and Trey if they want out. I dunno, this happens a lot, even though The Simpsons aren't renewed past this next season, they're still already writing episodes for the season following.
true that true that ixintro
they could continue SP if they wanted to, because comedy central needs the ratings and there's no question it will be popular no matter what they do
but then they risk dragging the show out into stale mediocrity like the simpsons, which should have been put to rest years ago
it's best to end on a high note, and i think the show has pretty much run its course
oooookay, clearing things up;
South Park has been renewed once again, a while ago (before the 15th season started actually). There will be 3 more seasons after the 15th.
As for the episode, im not sure if you guys actually understood what was going on. They said they couldn't 'live with this shit' anymore, it's all 'the same, over and over again'.
Stan, Randy and Sharon moving away, kyle and cartman seemingly becoming friends and possibly a lot of other major changes will occur. I'm thinking that they might be permanent.
Trey and Matt are most likely more than sick of all those people who "just want the old south park", and trying to please them, having to write episodes that they don't enjoy writing themselves. They are probably aiming for an almost complete reset of south park, different, more to their taste. It's a pretty giant step which takes a lot of planning, which is why the shit episode was the last of this run, now they have a while to decide on how to continue.
so yeah, there you go. that's how i interpreted the episode.
EDIT: Okay had some wrong information, the contract was in fact renewed but just til the end of 2013. So for 2 more seasons, at the very least.
source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/why-...y-parker-171189 (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/why-south-parks-trey-parker-171189)
"A week after they leave New York around March 28, the pair hurtles into the 15th season of South Park, part of a new pact with Comedy Central that keeps the show on the air through 2013 and is said to be even richer than their previous $75 million deal. They'll have just one week to create each episode, with no time to prep."
edit2: also im not sure whether or not the thing about randy and sharon, where they say that "their son turned 10" (speaking of south park) and then each saying "you kinda seem shitty to me" has something to do with trey and matt or not. Stan always portrayed Trey and Matt has always been kyle. With Trey wanting to write musicals and all that, it's possible (if unlikely) that the two might split up to go their own ways now. That'd be sad .
oh wow, that changes everything.. doesn't trey write all the episodes now though?
Yeah they do the table writing thing where they have a staff come up with ideas, but Trey locks himself and usually writes the episodes within a night. Honestly now with this episode, if they don't try a new direction, I'll be pretty disappointed, cuz they set themselves up pretty damn well. Also if Randy and Sharon end up split up, who gives a shit. Wouldn't be the first time. I do think a lot of what was left hanging in this episode will be resolved at least for the most part in the mid-season premiere.
yeah it will be interesting to see how they resolve this story arc. i just saw the episode again and it's really depressing and sad. i'd be sad to see randy and stan gone, especially randy, i think he's funny.
They're not goin anywhere, Randy's like the best fuckin adult character on the show
Quote from: Casey PixmintroThey're not goin anywhere, Randy's like the best fuckin adult character on the show
while that is true, in the argument sharon had with him, she said "I'm sick of you doing the same mistakes over and over again", probably referring to randy's character as he always does the same thing concept wise (get super worked up, always for different reasons though).
I sure as well would hate to see him go as well, with sharon and stan gone, i can live with though. In the episode in which kenny dies (512 i think), their ACTUAL idea was to kill off kyle, not kenny but they changed their mind. The reason why they wanted to kill off kyle was because kyle and stan are too similar anyways. With kyle having a much stronger personality than stan though, i can see why they would let stan go instead of kyle though, and tbh, i've just been waiting for either of the two to get killed or disappear in some other way from the show.
Oh and yeah, like ix said, it's a group of people coming up with shit but trey is writing it down in usually 1 to 2 nights and adding all kind of changes to the script as well as directing the episodes. Matt has been on the team since day 1 though, so i'm sure he's capable of taking over. That being said, i think they're BOTH under contract til the end of 2013 though, i think they were signed as a team which means we'd have to see what happens after that. My hopes for an end of south park with a nice movie to top it all off are high.
HAHAH the new episode "ur gettin older" was pretty funny
You're Getting Old was one of my favorite episodes in a long time. Was really funny and had a beautiful ending, that song fit the moment perfectly. I'm not sure what there gonna do from here though, hopefully this isn't permanent, but knowing Trey and Matt you never know. I was on the edge of my seat the second Randy said "because I'm not happy", seriously, during the ending I kept a straight face seeing the sun as a giant turd and a duck quack shit into Stan's face. During Sharon and Randy's argument I kind of had the feeling they were talking about the show saying things like "it's the same shit ever week and then it just resets". I have a feeling this episode is full of subliminal messages. Every episode of South Park does have a message.
Here's how I'd rank this half season so far:
1. City Sushi
2. Royal Pudding
3. You're Getting Old
4. Crack Baby Athletic Association
5. T.M.I.
6. HUMANCENTiPAD
7. Funnybot
I did like every episode though so this was hard.
Also shit, when was the last time I posted on this site?
i agree with what u said, true shit indeed about the subliminal messages
the only good episodes this season have been you're getting old and city sushi, the rest were garbage
but trey and matt are so busy now it must be hard for them to come up with good ideas and make them in a fucking week
hopefully over the summer they can come up with a good way to resolve what they've just done

i don't think it went downhill at all, i still like almost all of the episodes but there aren't as many really great episodes per season as there used to be.
also cartman = mr.blue
they got back together, so no change, unless you count the last scene, which made me smile, stan is an alcoholic? wohoo! so I dunno, does this mean I was right, or stan becoming like that makes it wrong? it's a nice joke, but I'd actually want them to follow up on it later, with the anonym alcoholics group or something. well there was 201 where they ended with complete silence, Free Willzyx and i know there was at least one more where the silent ending really added to the mood of the episode, but i can't remember which one that was.
season 15 synopsis:
episode 1: something happens with kyle and they dont do anything funny except cartman has a new catchphrase... and its not really funny.
episode 2: tyler perry satire and how a murderous thing is better than him or whatever. kind of funny i guess, but not very good.
episode 3: the royal wedding and tooth decay or whatever and Mr. maquie gets all mad or whatever. and the royal ceremony's weird or whatever.
episode 4: if your dick is small u get trolled super easy. south park get better writers
episode 5: the only good one. kyle basicially transitions himself into cartman, and they do crack baby basketball. oh, and college basketball=slavery except with education and you get out of it eventually. and slash is santa. pretty funny
episode 6: butters is mistaken for a faggot and he is a faggot and his therapist is a faggot and the chinese guy is the faggot that was actually the therapist faggot. 2nd best one.
episode 7: tween pop or whatever it is sounds like diarrhea and so does sting and the police. oh and cynicism or whatever. the marshes get divorced who cares.
episode 8: stan actually leaves and stays away because he's a cynic now, good. pun humor whatever, kind of funny. 3rd best.
overall it is an ok season. nothing great, nothing really bad so far.
well, i have a somewhat mix of dumb, cheesiness and nonsensical sarcasm that branches off into broken levels of absurdity. i'm kooky like that, bud.
i do have a somewhat serious post here and there, like the video game soundtracks thing, but its more fun to see reactions to my antics from you guys (i.e. fuckin'dante.gif)
never thought i'd see "lolitrollu" and "i'm a very random person XD" combined into one post
dante, you made that gif
nobody cares about your bullshit nearly as much as you think they do
then how come you know both my NG name and what that specific pic is?
eh, i'm not asking for it as much as you'd like to think i do ;)
PS:
i'm gay and i suck dick and also i'm queer and i wear funny hats laugh at me
i have no fucking idea who you are the only reason i can set you apart from the other fuckers is that awful animated gif you use as a user picture
The newest South Park episode, while enjoyable, was pretty disappointing.
It's like the last two episodes didn't even happen. :/ What a damn cop out. I was at least expecting something related to Stan's alcoholism.
i didn't even watch it.
new episode will probably turn out to be the best of the run cause it was fucking awesome
A+
i thought it was horrible. it didnt really go anywhere and the secondary characters were stupid.
well sorry but your opinion is wrong.
there.
Opinion, wrong.
How.
Why.
What.
Some opinions are more equal than others
I thought it was pretty funny, but somewhat overrated considering the reaction some people had on Facebook. >_>
Reaction? On Facebook? Was it that bad?
Some person thought it was one of the most hilarious episodes he has seen in a long time. I didn't think it was THAT good.
Guess I'll have to find out for myself. Now if only that cable wire reached the tv...
if you enjoy "monkey cheese" humor you might find it extremely hilarious, because it's sooooooooooo random! XD
I just want to see what all the habub is all about. I don't even watch South Park, I haven't seen much, since they did spoofs on Pokemon and DBZ. Which was a loooong time ago.

just go to southparkstudios.com - they got all the episodes there, and they put the news ones up a day after they air on TV

more like 4-6 hours after they air, actually.
Gentlemen.
That episode was not my cup of tea.
Good day.
you can just tell they had no idea what the fuck to do so they made a nonsensical plot device to drive the half-assed story which they didn't even resolve
it was bad and there's no way around it
eh, I thought it was alright
I liked it better than the Ike episode a while back. Not super funny but its tolerable.
It wasn't bad per say but it definitely wasnt good or clever really. It was just kind of mindless entertainment. Honestly they probably could have done a similar episode without Wikileaks tacked on. It probably would have been better too. People expect some kind of conclusive opinion to be delivered about controversial topics when it shows up on South Park. It seemed lazy. It almost seems like Trey and Matt are forcing themselves to put in things that are trending in media/pop culture whatever even when they don't need to.
I really think they should have tried to change the formula when they had the opportunity. They could have at least gone further with the fact Stan became an alcoholic.
I thought it was a decent episode. Pretty average though.
broadway? are you fucking kidding me?
South Park S1511(Broadway Bro Down)preview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ac28pgM_xM#)
I thought it was pretty damn funny. (except Randy's musical bit went on for a bit too long)
I guess this is the season where the creators keep teasing the possibility of changes regarding the March family only to undo it. While the episode was really funny, I thought the ending was pretty sad because of that kid's death. >_>

well, the preview made me go "meh" , but it turned out to be a pretty decent episode. "i'm sorry that spiderman killed your friend, shelly. he must have had a good reason"
i just thought it was nice that they went with something that wasnt some recent bit of pop culture
Haha the new episode was pretty decent yeah. Especially the ending.
i'm probably the only one, but i didn't like this weeks episode
it was a cartman episode so I liked it a lot and it granted some in-depth view into his psyche which was cool
yeah the ending was pretty funny with everyone watching him but it was too easy to tell who the culprit was from the beginning. but i guess that made the ending all that much better because you were just waiting to see how he was going to resolve a conflict he created for himself
we told him to grow up
so he got rid of his stuffed animals
new episode was very solid imo
and also pretty funny

I thought it was the 5th graders who did it after they gave an indication they were going to do something really bad. Also, the newest episode was pretty ridiculous, but in a good way.
wow. I am actually really happy with the 2nd half of the season. Only episode I didn't care for was the wikileaks episode and even that one wasn't THAT offensive.
Pretty neato!

I have to agree. Although I do not agree with the route they took (not changing up south park a little or a much, whatever, fuck you), i really enjoyed a lot of the episodes of this run.
