cats are terrible and worthless animals who refuse to do even the most rudimentary tasks you would expect from them (kill rodents and other pests) and they also fucking hate you and see people as nothing but a source of food

you don't own a cat - it owns you, your house, and everything in it, and to the cat it is nothing but a giant toilet to shit all over

All pets are reflections of the owners, bad training creates bad pets.  If the cat sucks, it's the owners fault.  The only reason I'm pointing this out is because my cat acts exactly the opposite of the way you're describing.

British blues cause they look pretty damn lovely and they're one of the more friendly/social/good tempered cats.

Although i personally would prefer dogs and parrots.

I'd say it wouldn't matter if the cat's not useful in a specific way because some people just get pets for company.
