After that idea thread I decided to finally start working on a big idea I had for a cartoon a while back.
I dusted off some characters I made when I was like...14 or something, redrew them and added some biographical background.
I would love some feedback on them.

The white...whatever is called Funn, a space junky.
He explores space in search of relics and valuables that randomly spawn into space
(because the odds of a sculpture of your penis randomly spawning in space is smaller than 1 to infinity, and space is infinite.
This is also kinda the premise of the cartoon. Because space is infinite everything in the cartoon is actually happening, an infinite amount of times, in infinite amounts of variations.
Everything is possible, and I'm going to do my best to get everything out of it.
He sells these weird things on black markets to get high on all sorts of exotic alien hallucinogens.
Slog, the robot-thing next to him is...slightly odder. His soul shifts from person to person every 5 minutes.
So with a bit of luck you might be the next slog! You could be sitting on the toilet one day and suddenly be transported into his body and you would hear this!: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9761645/dont%20scream2.mp3 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9761645/dont%20scream2.mp3)
I love this idea as he could come in handy at the most ridiculous scenarios. They have trouble with some electrical death-ray, and slog just happens to get the soul of a nerdy 12 year old hacker emo-boy. Hilarity ensues.
As for feel and sound, I feel it should start off in black and white/pleasantville'ish and slowly turn into a psychedelic color-fest.
As for music...weird glitchy beats: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh1xEXn8whE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh1xEXn8whE)
Just bouncing off some ideas. I'm not sure if this forum is capable of actually collaborating on ideas.
I like the sound of the idea, especially the idea of an episode get louder and more colorful as it goes on.
thanks:D

Your idea has certainly developed. I really like the style.

The idea sounds really solid. The whole concept kind of reminds me of the Multiverse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiverse) theory. Character models like that would work well with the whole color thing as well. They would also be easy to animate due to their general simplicity.
With something like this the backgrounds will be very important, so if you ever went through with this, make sure you don't skip out there.

Yeah I've been kind of feeling that since I got here.
The concept seems to have its pros and cons. On one hand the PROS to the unlimited freedom of this "space world" could open a lot of possibilities (Like the way the Yellow Submarine animated film had things like worlds stuck in doorways or a sea made of holes) and it could give us a unique cartoon series which allows you to create a lot of alternative non-liner ways to tell a story (i.e. colors schemes changing as the story progresses, or different variations of the cartoon actually causing another universe of the same cartoon to become manipulated) which I think can be very interesting. Or in the CONs it could become just a "lol random" fest and have no real story and the viewer has wasted his time in another retread of Harold and Kumar go to white castle. Seeing as how I don't actually know what your episodes are like I can't make any solid opinions on that yet haha. But it would be nice to see some rough outlines of their potential stories.
As for Funn and Slog's designs, I think the first thought that came to mind was Lego characters. And it might just be Funn's head shape coupled with the claw non-fingered hands. I think a simple character is fine but I fear that these guys are going to have a hard time showing any expressions. Like how will we as a viewer be able to tell if he's sad, mad, jealous etc? His eyes in the animation test looked around but he was very static the whole time. Was he being suspicious or thinking or distracted? I don't know because he wasn't giving off any acting/expression to tell us. And I know it's kind of a small detail but making a character blink helps a person see a character as a living thing and not just a puppet. No mouth and again you have cut out another important feature that viewers hone in on to read a characters emotions. Not that a character needs a mouth, but it does mean you're going to need to work harder to express his feelings/believably as a character into the body and eye animation like a mime does heh.
Also, please take what I'm saying with a grain of salt as I'm only observing the idea not trying to make any final judgments. From the stuff you wrote, it seems like you've got something going on in your head for these guys, so keep building, drawing, and brainstorming. Maybe you should try drawing a little one page comic of them and see how it pans out. That's technically like setting up a storyboard for an episode and it pinpoints the key elements to the cartoons story and the conclusion. Was it entertaining/too predictable/cliché? Did the characters show individual personality from each other? These are just things to think about as you continue to grow the idea :] but so far I think it has potential!
I dont really like the character designs :/
seeing them in motion might change my mind!

I agreed with everything you said except this. The animation test was from many years ago. I think I will manage.
Take Gromit, from Wallace and Gromit for example. Very emotive character, even though he only uses his eyes.
However, I am no Aardman, so I guess I'll just have to see how this goes.
Thanks for the very extended review!
