im not one for trying to make big predictions, but after watching this episode, im betting suyin is part of the red lotus as well. finding out that unalaq and aiwei were part of the red lotus too suggests that there might be more members who weren't captured, and that their network might be as big as the white lotus even. particularly because of zaheer's reveal on what the red lotus's goals are, and thinking about su's line about the earth queen to korra, something about how the queen thinks she can do whatever she wants and how monarchy is outdated, and then asking korra what she thinks about it, prompting the same philosophical thought that zaheer provoked in this episode. also other possible hints, like when it turned out that aiwei was a traitor, su didn't seem all that surprised, and then su sending korra and the others off that night secretly, su's anarchistic past, the fact that she traveled the world in exile for a long time, etc
when you think about it what the hell is a living shirt supposed to sound like anyway

get a voice actor who can vocally imitate the sound of clothing flapping around

actually to be honest, i think all of the elite four sound pretty good, i think sarah just kinda stole the show there actually. the only one im not really sure about is gamagoori. also sanageyama might be disappointing in the future, since we haven't heard his scream yet. i'm not sure if any american voice actor can scream like hiyama. senketsu sounds really good to me too actually the more i listen to it, he just doesnt sound like the previous senketsu. instead, he kinda sounds younger, which i honestly don't have a problem with

when i first heard that klk was getting dubbed, i immediately thought, "holy shit, i hope sarah williams voices nonon" and it looks like i got my wish

sarah williams was peacock in skullgirls and sayaka in the madoka dub, among other roles. she hung out with some of us when we got ramen in LA last summer, and listening to her talk normally, her voice is like made to voice cartoons

this may be terrible advice and feel free not to listen to me, but i notice you like really big pretty paintings with wide color palettes — why don't you try stealing borrowing colors from a piece or artist you really like when you color a piece? might give you some good color ideas yo

some of the critique in this thread is useful, but a few things i want to add though:

a sequential juxtapose of images used to tell a story is a "comic". the japanese word for this is "manga". the korean word for this is "manhwa". there are many other terms for this, but in the west, it is wholly a "comic". culturally, there is a difference, much like the difference between the american "cartoon" and the japanese "anime". if you make a comic and you live in the west, it's better to call it a comic, or else you will probably rub people the wrong way.

people in this thread are telling you to study some anatomy likely because they believe that's the most glancing thing that lacks in your work, and they're generally right, but i believe you're a little too early to go straight into anatomy. in my opinion, you should understand the basic forms and how to use them, and build forms made out of the cube, sphere, and cylinder. a really good resource i'd recommend starting with is this torrent: http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7409774/Vilppu_Studio._(Anatomy__Drawing_Manual__Head_Anatomy_and_Constr

even just downloading the pdf's from this will give you some basic exercises to practice to dramatically improve your art. i personally like this training resource, because it teaches the forms while applying it directly to figure drawing, which helps ease the monotony of getting the basics down using some direct application to what you want to be drawing. the exercises in the drawing manual pdf are to be used independently and with the aid of a model or other pose reference. a good resource for this can be found here: http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/ — otherwise, there are plenty of videos in this torrent on anatomy and proportions. definitely start with the pdf file and go from there. you might also benefit from videos by Proko, which interpret some of the concepts Vilppu goes over.

the advice a lot of people give to young artists who draw the way you do is "don't copy anime, anime will make you a bad artist". i don't think any art style will make you a bad artist by default, and that you should draw the things you like. however, it is important to have a foundation and understanding of why something works before trying to make it work yourself. if you want to draw like the anime/manga artists you look up to, use their styles as a supplement — draw things from life and from observation and then analyze how the artists you like handle those things, be it their simplification of anatomy, their poses, their expressions, their line quality, the way they handle volumes, whatever you want. but figure out how it works in life first, since all things are derived from the real world.

at this point in an artist's development, the best advice is to just draw a lot of everything that appeals to you — most people in your position keep doing that and eventually realize there's something wrong with their work, usually through critique from other people or naturally through the progression of personal taste and comparison to other artists. it might feel overwhelming, but the feedback you're getting from people here, though it may vary from person to person, is generally a clear indicator of how your art is received by your audience. so consider how other people perceive your art, consider how you perceive your art, and draw what will ultimately allow you to achieve your goals.

i'm amazed they made it out of tr's game corner, but i'd be even more amazed if they made it out of the safari zone (without hacking)

ok 1 no there is no pain, I respect rtil opinion but I also like the way I do it.

when you make any form of art, once it leaves your hands, it's not up to your interpretation anymore, it's up to the audience's. it doesn't really matter if you like the way you animate, everyone is agreeing that it doesn't look right. if you want to be a professional artist, you need to be able to listen to the general feedback you get from your audience. the fact that you animate on index cards would be a "to each their own" issue if the animations you made moved correctly, but you have people telling you they don't, so logically it's advisable to consider that. after all, you post your art here to get feedback and get better, don't you?

if you're specifically interested in working traditionally, here are some cheaper options you could use to make a makeshift animation table:

http://www.lightfootltd.com/catalog/animation-paper
http://www.lightfootltd.com/catalog/pegbars
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFFq_-XCfq4
the animators survival kit - richard williams

With these resources, a rubber band, some tape and a hard surface to attach the peg bars to, you can do traditional animation for under $30, and that's including 300 sheets of 10f paper.  Also included is a free link to the Animator's Survival Kit, a book which is generally considered the best resource out there for learning how to animate properly. You can also find free pdf copies of it with a little bit of searching, or buy it on Amazon for under $25 if you have the money to spare for a hard copy.

if you're concerned with animating "on the go" (since you mentioned that you can't bring a light table everywhere), I'd only really recommend doing rough key poses or thumbnails the way you do it, and then inbetweening them/fixing them at home. But the fact of the matter is, animation is a pretty stationary artform and you need to sit down at a workspace and focus in order to do it properly.

otherwise, my feedback on why this animation doesn't work for your convenience:
the andy anvil animation doesn't work. almost every part of the drawing changes shape or moves out of arc in each frame. there's a pop leading up to every instance in which what i assume to be keys appear. when moving back to the idle, the right leg doesn't resolve properly, it creeps up slowly and then slams back into the idle. geometric parts of the character change perspective planes unevenly, and everything is evenly spaced. the first frame (the idle drawing you used) should be removed as well because it interferes with the actual cycle, but even without it, the cycle doesn't work properly. based on all of this, i am going to surmise that you do not understand the principles of animation, and are only copying what you've seen in fighting games until it vaguely moves like a fighting game — but your work could be so much more appealing if you understood how to make things move properly.
hope that helps, happy animating!

i think after watching enough imaishi cartoons, i've concluded that he really just likes t&a. he has a very silly crude sense of humor, and i think re: cutie honey ep 1 and pretty much all of panty and stocking are good examples of this
